CHAPTER 35As planned, Miles and Ryan arrived at the Consulate shortly after ten o’clock. They walked through the metal detectors and into the lobby, where there was a beehive of activity. It took several minutes in line before it was their turn at the information desk. “How can I assist you?” said the woman behind the desk. Miles noticed her name badge, which read: “Nancy Shore.” “We’re here to see Benjamin Watts, Ms. Shore.” “May I see some form of identification, please?” she politely asked.
