CHAPTER 37As they walked back from dinner at Bravos, Miles noticed he had missed a call from Ken. Once they were back in the condo, he returned the call.
“How are you two amigos doing?” Ken asked innocently as he answered the phone.
“We’re fine, but it appears our future is somewhat cloudy,” Miles replied ominously.
“Tell me,” Ken demanded.
Miles went on to explain, in detail, the dilemma he and Ryan had found themselves in as a result of the cartel’s demands. He also laid out the option of taking care of things themselves if Ken’s associates at the FBI decided not to go after Reese.
“Talk to Audrey about this,” Ken told him. “Tell her everything you know and give her the chance to get approval to go after Reese. I cannot emphasize enough that you must not take this on yourself. Miles
