Sparks flew from their brief ‘greeting,’ scorching his face. Aware of the advantage that his opponent’s thick shield gave the false god, Hadjar circled around the warrior’s heavy blows, each of his moves calculated not to necessarily reach the false god and strike him, but rather, to throw him off his rhythm and provoke a reckless attack.
