Accompanied by Shakh, Hadjar threw himself at the enemy ranks with tripled ferocity. They both slashed, hacked, stabbed, and ground down their opponents, clearing a path back down the wall. By the time they broke through to the tower, the bloody remains of butchered corpses lay behind them, along with dozens of desert natives.
The descent from the walls proved much easier and quicker than the ascent. Within minutes, Hadjar and Shakh were at the base, their eyes beholding the spectacle. Soldiers of the Moon army were pouring through the gates into the city, and the increasing hum and creak of the siege towers clearly indicated that the number of warriors in black would soon increase.
