Third Person's POV
Early evening, at a modest apartment building in the south end of the city.
Samantha had prepared a full dinner, showered, and changed into a fresh dress.
When the doorbell rang, she shot a glance at her mother, Georgia. Georgia went to open the door.
The moment the front door opened, Cassian stepped inside. His Alpha aura descended heavily, forcing the sweet fragrance of the room to retreat.
Algernon burst out from the living room, hugging Cassian's legs and looking up with a shout, "Daddy!"
Cassian looked at Samantha.
Samantha immediately pulled a stern face, her voice deliberately raised. "Algernon, this is Alpha Cassian. You are not allowed to call him that—"
Startled by her tone, Algernon's nose crinkled, and tears instantly flooded his eyes.
