CHAPTER 3

Let's get started. Lycaon chooses to *Gather Allies*. He summons Thane and Aethera to his chambers, briefing them on the Shadow Weaver's emergence and the growing threat.

"We need to uncover the Shadow Weaver's identity and motivations," Lycaon says, his voice low and urgent. "Thane, use your network to gather information on any suspicious activity. Aethera, consult the ancient texts and see if there's any mention of the Shadow Weaver or similar dark magic users."

Thane nods, his eyes narrowing. "I'll get to work immediately, my king."

Aethera's expression turns thoughtful. "I'll research the ancient lore and see what I can find. But, Lycaon, we should be cautious. If the Shadow Weaver is manipulating your council, we can't trust everyone."

Lycaon's jaw clenches. "You're right. Let's keep this between us for now. We'll need to tread carefully."

As they begin their investigation, a council member, Lord Arcturus, requests an urgent meeting with Lycaon...

Lycaon's instincts tell him to be cautious, but he also needs to maintain a sense of normalcy. He decides to meet with Lord Arcturus, keeping Thane and Aethera nearby, discreetly positioned to observe and intervene if needed.

The meeting takes place in a neutral chamber, with Lord Arcturus arriving promptly. He's a tall, imposing figure with a stern expression.

"My king, I've come to discuss the recent...unsettling events," Lord Arcturus says, his voice measured. "Some of the council members have expressed concerns about your leadership, and I fear it may be...exploited by external forces."

Lycaon senses a hidden agenda but remains composed. "I appreciate your concerns, Lord Arcturus. Rest assured, we're addressing the situation."

As the meeting concludes, Lycaon notices Lord Arcturus's gaze lingering on Aethera, who's observing from a distance. A flicker of unease passes through Lycaon...
