The power ripped through me like lightning. White-hot. Blinding. Consuming. I felt it tear from my chest, from somewhere deep inside I didn't know existed, and explode outward in a wave that sent Thomas's rogues flying. They hit trees. The ground. Each other. Some didn't get up. "What…" Kade's voice. Shocked. "Sera, what did you…" I didn't answer. Couldn't. The power was still there, crackling under my skin like a live wire. Begging to be used again. Terrifying. "Run!" I screamed. "GO!" We ran. Through the chaos. Over the bodies. Past Thomas, who was laughing. Actually laughing. "THERE IT IS!" His voice followed us. "The witch blood! I knew it was there!" I didn't look back. Just ran faster. The bond pulled toward the Beta house. Toward Ember. Toward everything that matter
