*Morgan* When Shane leaves the room, I rock back in my chair in frustration. Have I just made a deal with the devil? That's what it sort of feels like. But what other choice did I have? At least the agreement is reasonable and has a time limit. I stand and cross over to the huge full-length mirror in my room. I inspect the bite mark that Shane has left on my neck again. I stare at the heart-shaped mark for much longer than necessary. Even though it's only been a day, my wound is clearing up well. Because of my experience in healing other people, I can estimate how long my bite will take to heal completely. More importantly, I now know how long I have until I can leave the pack house.
