Shane grabs my hand and pulls me inside the house. My head whips around wildly as I look around for the monster hunter. Is he watching us right now? I've only ever heard horror stories about monster hunters. My mother didn't know much, but when I was young, she would tell me we must always be on the lookout for them. She said that hunters had a way to destroy without using magic. We had an escape plan for if one ever came to our village in search of us.
It seems like Shane's pack has a plan in place too. There's a flurry of activity as my destined mate barks orders at his pack. He turns to the two people who found Fredrick's body.
