“Reginald, please open the door. It's an emergency!" I hear Tanya yell from outside my room.
I throw down my book and race to open the door. Tanya is standing there with a panicked look in her eyes.
“What? What is it?" I ask her. “Is everyone okay?"
“No…" Tanya took a deep breath. “Fredrick was found dead in the woods."
She pauses for a moment, allowing me to process that one of our own is dead. I can't believe it. I put a hand over my heart. Tanya and I share a look of agony. One tear falls down her face.
“There were signs that it was a monster hunter. Shane told me to tell all the elders. They are preparing for a meeting in their own rooms, and they ask you to do the same. Someone will come to inform you when everything is ready," Tanya says quickly, then runs off,
