Kayla's pov.
Contrary to what mom said, and what I heard, there were actually humans in Lunacreed College.
Just that they were treated like the minority, even the rich humans suffered mockery and we're bullied by the wolves in college.
I haven't spent two days yet in college, I was thinking of how to settle.
My father, beta Barnes was sweet enough to support my decision.
He funded my account with enough money to live in Lunacreed College.
“If you do get tired of that place, you can always come home.” he told me when we spoke the previous night.
I had no intentions of returning home, not anytime soon.
This place was my new home.
I had the upper hand here, since I have lived amongst wolves all my life. It was hard for them to tell that I was human.
That gave me free passage when I was doing my registration on the first day.
Plus, father's most trusted witch has given me a perfume to mask my human scent.
I won't have any trouble here, I have more than enough bottles to last me for six months.
If it finishes, I can always ask Hilda to send me more.
A sigh escaped my lips as I stood in front of the three storey building.
I had rented one of the apartments here. Student dorm was a no go area for me. I love my privacy.
If I want to keep my secret as a human, it's best I live outside the dorm.
The movers were done carrying the heavy furnitures and all into my apartment.
Just a few boxes left for me to carry in.
Still, it felt like a lot of work, my apartment was at the top floor.
I picked it because of the view and now I am regretting it.
I lifted one of the boxes and began dragging one the luggages with my other arm.
Barely on the second flight of stairs and I was already panting and sweating profusely.
“You can do this Kayla.” I puffed, feeding my spirit with words of encouragement
One my step, and I lost balance, went crashing backwards.
I was sure my head would spilt in two as I closed my eyes, prepared for the heavy crash against the stairs.
A hand wrapped around my waist as I blinked in fear.
Mouth parted as I watched an outstretched hand catch the box and long leg kick the luggage to stand still
“Are you okay?” A thick yet sensuous voice filled my mind.
For a moment I remained static as I took in the most absorbing grey orbs I have ever seen
Tousled dark hair with the perfect lashes and plump lips.
I was tempted to graze my fingers along his jawline.
Dear me, whoever this person is, he just let me lose control of my breathing.
I was still mesmerized by his aura as it overtook me.
He balanced the load with accuracy and helped me straighten.
I still gawked like he was the most expensive dish I have ever seen.
Who says men don't make dungarees look sexy.
This one wore it loose and it hung over his well panned chest.
“I hope you aren't in shock? That would have been a tragic fall.” He said.
I clamped my mouth shut, what was wrong with me, staring like a weirdo.
“Yeah, erm, huh?” I was already confused.
He flashed a little smile and I didn't fail to notice his perfect white teeth.
“You need help, where's your apartment at? I'd carry it for you.”
“Yeah, I do, top floor.” I gestured up the stairs.
He picked the luggage and the box like they weighed nothing as moved ahead of me
It gave me the opportunity to stare at his butt.
What in the world, this guy is a snack. I can tap that ass if he gives me the chance to.
He got to the top floor and has not even broken a sweat, his breathing was still steady.
They should have put an elevator in this building, it would have made things easier for the tenants.
I quickly rushed to open the door for him, so he could enter.
He dropped the loads in the middle of the living room.
From his muscles, I can tell that he works out, maybe I'd ask what gym he goes to on weekends so that I can join him
“Nice place.” He commented, his eyes took in everything that was already set.
“Thank you, I like the view mostly.”
Geez, I sound like a highschool girl speaking to her crush.
Lunacreed College wasn't as bad as mom painted it to be after all.
“I live next door by the way. In case you need any help with arranging or moving some stuff.”
Really?
That was my inner voice.
That was a double blessing on my part, a hot nice neighbour.
I stretched out my hands for a proper introduction.
“I'm Kayla, Kayla Barnes.”
He took my hands ,his grip warm and soft in touch, I almost melted from it.
“Adonis, Adonis knight.”
Even his name sounds sexy as hell.
He left me alone and I could still perceive the smell.
I inhaled it to savour the feeling for a while.
There was still a lot of work to be done, arrangement and all.
I was even tempted to get Adonis for help. I had to restrain myself.
I shouldn't be too forward.
After an exhausting day of setting up my apartment, I freshened up and took it upon myself to bake a cake.
A thank you gift to Adonis for saving my life.
It was the proper thing to do, I sprayed my masking perfume over my body then headed for his apartment next door.
Loud music blared from within and wondered if he was that into music.
A soft knock on the door, and I waited, standing patiently for him to open the door.
The door swung open and it wasn't Adonis, it was a lady with blonde hair
Half naked, cigarette in her mouth, she sized me up as though I was a cheap steak.
“What?” She hissed
My stomach churned and cheeks burned with jealousy.
What was I thinking, that such a hot guy would be single?
Who am I kidding?
“Erm, is Adonis home?”
“Yes.” she spat rudely
“Okay, I wanted to give,”
Slam!!
The door was inches from
my nose.
Embarrassment washed over me, I don't know why I bothered in the first place.
After Issac, I swore that I was done with wolves, including the hot, sexy ones.
