Lost Memory

1195 Words
The rustling of the leaves in the gentle breeze, carrying the faint aroma of the meadow with the warmth of the sun, the day went slowly. Thin clouds seemed bumpy, flowing wherever the wind took them. Since when have I been here? I do not even remember.   Thinking, looking for reasons, bad thoughts that come erased by the impression of friendly nature.   The only memory I have is my name, Alif. That's my nickname, with no memory of my family name or who I am.   Thinking a lot without obscure information is a waste of time.   Stepping steadily through the path, I found a settlement, or rather a village.   Hospitality radiates from each of its inhabitants. The shopping area looks crowded with visitors, trading activities take place peacefully with smiles that are familiar with each other. Various items ranging from food ingredients to the typical clothes of this place are sold at low prices. But that's what makes it crowded buyers.   "The village trade system is quite advanced," I thought.   Without a penny of money, there's nothing I can buy. The only one I have right now is my current clothes and a dagger. Without memory, 0 fighting experience, 0 money, no relatives or acquaintances, plus no place to stay.   To be honest, my situation is really bad. I might be able to survive if I hunt in the forest and sell it.   Um, it's been decided.   After walking through each house and asking questions, I found a group of people who were about to hunt.   This group consists of five adults and three young people including myself. Even though I'm a stranger, they are still kind and friendly to me. On the way, I was told that our target was Furry Boar, a wild animal in the form of a one-meter-high boar that often destroys residents' plantations. The leader of this group is Alfred, a 60-year-old man who spent his life continuing to hunt wild animals that threaten the village. Accompanied by two other brothers, Wiger and Geremy. Both are only one year adrift of Alfred. While the others are two pairs of father and son. Astra with his father, Norman, and Este with his father, Verol. You could say they were all family hunters from generation to generation. Armed with three swords, one spear, and three arrows - maybe my dagger also needs to be counted. We traced the forest by tracing the trail left by Furry Boar. Alfred led, followed by Wiger, Geremy, Norman, Verol, Astra, Este, and me, respectively. Alfred looks quite experienced in this matter, he can skillfully find traces piled up by leaves. After half an hour of walking, Alfred beckoned to move without much noise. If I looks carefully, five meters ahead, the two-meter Furry Boar is eating fruit casually. His skin was thick black with red eyes that glowed in the dark. Fangs sticking up as high as half a meter. This one looks very dangerous, obviously, this one is different from normal Furry Boar. With a body full of thick muscles, his body must be very hard.  Before Este could release his arrow, Alfred stopped him, feeling something was wrong. We waited patiently for Alfred's instructions while still watching. Alfred, a little anxious, turned to us and said, "Listen, if you meet a Shadow Wolf, run immediately out of the woods, never look back." Everyone understood Alfred's intentions properly, nodding without exception. After a while, the one-meter high black-figure tore Furry Boar's body that was larger than its size as easily as tearing the paper. Out of nowhere, the figure emitted a strong sense of danger. A pair of golden eyes stared intently at us. Alfred shouted frantically, "Run!" Before Alfred even shouted, we were ready to escape. That's something we talked about before, a Shadow Wolf! Wild animals that have the ability to move through shadows. In the dense forest, a Shadow Wolf is an almost certain angel of death. To be honest, we aren't even sure we could get out of the forest alive. Continuing to run desperately, the adrenaline peaked until it was almost vomited from my mouth. Trying to calm down and think, but the real terror continues to haunt my mind. Opposing rational thought, however, I only have a dagger. The possibility of survival is near zero, it is impossible to survive except with extraordinary luck and abilities. Alfred gasped, with an old body, he must have reached his limit. Alfred, who had realized it, stopped.  "I'll hold it here, leave me!" try to look cool and sacrifice. Alfred's body trembled with fear, but his determination did not waver just from fear. This is the limit, Wiger and Geremy, who love their siblings, cannot leave their siblings. Wiger said, "Huh, don't chill" Geremy smiled confidently, said, "He is right. We have lived long enough, we will entrust the future to the younger generation." My legs felt heavy, reluctant to leave this place, like Astra and Este. Although only for a short time, I gained valuable experience from this three siblings. It won't be easily erased, my feelings are fluttering. Sad, don't want to. I quite hate myself for feeling a little relieved. Astra and Este's sad feelings must be more than mine. Their memories may have been incalculable.  But, the first hunting rule, "The command of the group leader must be obeyed for the safety and experience of the next generation." that is the absolute rule of the hunters here.  Therefore the group leader is always someone who is experienced and wise in making decisions.  "Damn damn damn!" Astra roared furiously while continuing to force its steps. Tears flowed from the corner of his eyes.  In sadness, the fire of anger and revenge is born. Astra will never forgive Shadow Wolf before killing it.  "Oooouuuuuu ..." wolf's howl echoed in the darkness of the forest.  Maybe they are fighting now. I can only hope they can survive, even though it's a bit difficult.  But ... as soon, we face despair. Not just one, but a large group of Shadow Wolf chasing us.  But this is a little strange, with the ability to move through shadows, it shouldn't be difficult for them to stop us.  In addition, their movements are quite organized. They chased us from almost all sides, so we could only move forward.  It's weird no matter how you think about it. I will try to bet. If they intend to kill us, none of us should be alive today.  "You have to go, warn the villagers about this." It's nice to be cool at a time like this. And… they left me without hesitation, it made me sick. At least say something! As expected, the group stopped chasing when I stopped. "Grrrrrrrrrr ..." many growls could be heard. There are dozens of pairs of golden eyes glowing in the dark looking at me. This atmosphere is more intense than I thought. I took a deep breath, and spook in a deep voice, "Coming out you that lead them all!" As if understanding my language, one figure between them approached. Unlike others who are only one meter tall, this one is three meters tall and has a pair of pitch-black horns on its head. His fur is decorated in a golden pattern on black which makes it look more majestic. Pressure, body size, speed, strength. In almost every aspect, he was far beyond me. Coupled with intelligence approaching humans, is a terrible fact.
