First Night.... Confrontations

While Zyra sits back and watching the family entertainment drama show playing at at the family dinning room table in front of her the only think she can think of who can whine the loudest and who wins the most annoying voice award of of the bunch. Jaime sits beside her and looks thourghly embarrassed and fluster. Zyra is keeping and on grandpa Ernest. Because out of every one on this side of the family besides her mom, the twins, and Lee grandpa Ernest is really the only one she likes. And he spends all day working construction and can't stand all the yelling and right now he looks like he is about to Explode.

"Enough" slamm!!!! That's all you hear as Grandpa slams his fist down on the table and everyone freezes almost instantly like a magic spell. " This is a welcome home dinner for Zyra. And what do you imbeciles do? Be disrespectful, ungrateful, unruly, childish prats that have to be self centered, egotistical, pansy's all because of a comment that made you feel inferior for no reason other then your need for theatrics. I Did Not raise my children to behave like this much less so that they can turn around and raise their children this way. I apologize Zyra for the disgrace of this family dynamic that you have witnessed tonight and I hope that you won't let this insidious incident affect the rest of your stay with us. The rest of you apologize and act like the adults I raised you to be at the dinner table now!! " grandpa says. Everyone looks at Zyra and apologizes and returned to silence at the table except for the clanking of dinner wear from the food being devoured.

" Grandpa am I gonna be working on your crew this summer or one of the other three?" Zyra says asking about working this summer as mentioned before grandpa does construction but it's his own business. He has four crews in total that work new construction areas on contract that put up soffit and siding on the newly being built homes and picks up side jobs for repair work. Zyra is multifaceted when it comes to thing knowing how to put on both soffit and siding is one of the many things she is good at and has been learning to do since she was old enough to walk and she is 15 years old now.

"You will be on my crew for now. If changed need to be made later then we will make changes later and don't forget I need to you look over the books again. I know you just did here a couple of months ago but we have had a lot of expenses lately and I just want to make sure we're still pretty well sweet in the black and not falling into the red." grandpa replies. Katie pops off with" why does Zyra not only get to go to work with to just watch the hotties that work for but she also get to be charge of the company money? I mean it's not like she is gonna be here for long I'm around all year round I should be in charge of the company money not her " Zyra responds in kind with full on sarcasm mind you as leans forward the table proceeds to grab a lock of her auburn red hair and acts like she popping chewing gum as she says" well, Katie I don't go to work with to stand around and watch the hotties as you. (eyeroll) I actually do work from measuring the houses for sizes and pieces and seeing up the electric saw table to cut all the material into the pieces needed for each house but I also load and unload the scaffolding equipment and set it around the houses besides putting it up. I'm a little too busy to be standing around watching the hotties. Second, I do the company books all year round weather I'm here or not last time I checked I'm the only one at this table who has been in the MENSA program since I was 8. And math's is my best subject. So, financial book keeping for a lack of a better term is one of the things I'm best at." she then sits up straight stops playing ditzy and says" can any one here refute any of that information or do any of you have any more stupid questions that you want to blurt out without thinking through. Just so you can try and humiliate some one with out knowing the facts? "

Silence is all that is heard.

" Tomorrow morning four thirty in the morning sharp. Out by five or I'm leaving without you" grandpa says

" Yes Sir, I'll be up and ready by then. Are you picking me up in truck from here or so I ride with Lee to our usual gas, coffee, breakfast stop and switch rides then?" Zyra asks

" You, can ride with Lee to our usual place and switch and I already figured you were gonna work over don't what all the other kids in family are doing this summer so I already had your payroll set up and tool belt reset and put in it's spot in the back of the truck. " grandpa says

" thank you, grandpa. " Zyra says. Then she looks at Lee who gets the hint of I'm over this can they please leave now so I can shower and sleep look on her face and he winks and starts maneuver people out of the dining room and the rest of the house. It took Lee about 40 minutes to get the whole rest of the family or of the house while Jaime and Zyra went with the twins up stairs to make sure they took baths and climbed into bed before they closed the door and went into the sitting room. Once every one was gone Zyra walked over to Lee and gives him a big grateful hug and tells him she misses him and says she is going to shower and sleep and she will see him at four thirty. She walks over to Jaime gives her a big hug says night mom and I'll see you when we get home from work tomorrow. Jaime says good night baby girl see you tomorrow. Well, showered and we'll beyond tired Zyra crawls into her bed thinking well what a interesting first night. Can't wait to see what the first actual day brings.
