Back to the rock Geoffrey went that evening. He had all but convinced himself there would be nothing there, but to his surprise, the coffee can was back, filled with flowers, the kind one could get at the grocery store. Something secured them, not cellophane or a ribbon, but rather something yellow…and kind of fuzzy. Geoffrey barked out a laugh. Pamper those tootsies, an attached note read.
Geoffrey smiled at the reference to Fuzzy Yellow Socks, recalling the scene in which Austin, a professional football player, trips over his girlfriend’s cat and stubs his toe a few days before the big game.
