Nearly an hour later… The meeting finally came to an end. I quietly picked up my bag, eager to leave. “Cassie.” I looked up. Rafael was standing beside me, his expression unusually gentle. “Are you alright?” he asked softly. “You look a little pale.” I forced a small smile. “I’m fine.” I wasn’t. But there was no reason to make him worry. After all… this was my fault. I should’ve known better than to come here. Rafael studied me for a moment, clearly unconvinced. He opened his mouth, ready to say something else— “Let’s go.” The cold voice instantly cut him off.
