Chapter 2: Misunderstanding Between The Two Souls

1557 Words
Anabelle's POV: In all honesty, this man doesn't seem to look like a brat but the one standing right behind him, who is giving me the most prude looks, IS definitely one. As I stood there in front of the Royal Highnesses, I contradicted my next move and sentence very carefully because by looking at the family standing in front of me, I can tell that the one standing in front, who is more dashing and handsome, is Stefan Charles Voldor. The one standing behind him, also known as the original BRAT, is the son of Duke Henry, Louis Henry Voldor and honestly just by looking at him I can easily tell that he will be a real pain in the bottom very soon. "Ahh Anabelle! It's so good to see you! My! Have you grown!" King Charles exclaimed before coming in front of me to kiss the back of my hand as a form of respect, making me smile out of kindness as I bowed down for a small curtsy. "I must say Sir Charles, it has been quite a minute and as always, I see that you haven't aged one bit." I replied with amusement, making the old man laugh with joy. "Oh age is just a fine specimen that doesn't fail to compliment every time we meet," he replied, which made me giggle lightly. "Now I hope that you remember Stefan my son?" he moved back a bit showing a handsome face right in front of me coming in front to meet me with grace and confidence. Okay I must say that he is very handsome... "Your Highness," he said, his accent having a deep undertone as he came in front of me and grabbed my hand, kissing the back of it just like his father. But what's different than the way his father did it was the fact that I felt tiny sparks, that made me blush a bit, as I bowed down for a curtsy. "Your Grace. It's a pleasure to finally meet my possible future husband." I said, as he smiled showing his pearly whites. "Well it's not everyday that I meet someone with a beauty as infinite as yours," he said and there was just something about the way he said that sentence. Something that I only read in Shakespeare books. The grace, the beauty of his words gliding across my skin... "That sounds like you say that to all of the beautiful women around you." I retorted, making him chuckle lightly before he lifted his head and made eye contact with me, before he said, "Not like you they aren't." and that did it. The treacherous blush and smile that I gave confirmed that I did like this man. Well started to like this man... I was broken out of my trance when I saw him being pulled away by the original BRAT of the family. "Good evening, Princess Anabelle. My name is Louis, and I'm sure that you have heard alot about me." he said, before he kissed the back of my hand and, while holding eye contact, has the urge to smirk at me, making me shiver in disgust. Stefan's touch made me feel amazing but this brute has the audacity to kiss my hand and expect me to think good about him? Honestly that's so sad... "Indeed I did hear alot about you Sir Louis but I can't seem to remember what kind of things I heard about you." I said with a more unsure and pointed look at the brute which made him open his mouth in shock and made Stefan snicker lightly. "Gentlemen, it is so nice of you to join us today for this fortunate evening. Now as you know, we're here to settle Stefan and Anabelle's betrothal but I feel like it would be alot better if they got some time to know each other better. Get to know about what they like, dislike, all of the couple's things. What do you think Charles?" my mother asks, coming to stand by my side by placing one of her hands on my shoulder. " Yes of course. I definitely agree, Victoria. We don't need these two fighting later into their marriage. So why don't you take Anabelle for a little stroll, Stefan?" he asks, out of the blue, pulling Stefan by his shoulders, as he stood there in confusion. "I-I think so yes of course. I mean that would be great I-" "Splendid! Now that that's settled, let's send these two lovebirds outside so that we can discuss important matters." my mother interjected out of the blue, pushing me as I furrowed my eyebrows, after processing her question. "B-but mum won't you need us for-" "NOW!" both of our parents suddenly yelled making us scurry down to the lawn outside the Palace walls. Oh god... Help me... ---------------------------------------- Stefan's POV: Okay honestly, I do think that this woman might be into me after listening to my wit and hearing my distaste for the brute. To say that we won't cause problems in our marriage might something that I would definitely look forward to. As I stroll the palace lawn with the lovely beauty right by my side, I try to think of the best possible way to approach a conversation with the girl as I don't want to look like I crossed my limits. Who knows, she might even decline this marriage proposal at my wrong approaching. "I see that the weather today seems pleasant don't you think?" I asked out of the blue, getting mad at myself for asking such a stupid question in order to start a proper conversation. Why? Why is it always about the weather to you, Stefan? "Yes I think so too. I actually love to take a few strolls here in this garden, or maybe I would just come here with my book to read here peacefully. Well, until my mother screams at me to get back inside before it gets dark," she says, making me smile lightly at the end of her statement. Mums, you can never have the heart to ever hate them... "Well the only reason why I come to these lawns is to just lay on the grass and.. Think." I said, making her laugh all of a sudden at my statement. "So you just go there, lay spread on the grass, and just think? My that's absolutely no fun at all!" she retorts making me chuckle. "Well, all day I do an ample amount of reading so it just makes sense if one day I just lay on the grass and think about my life and my greatest adventures that accompany it," I say, with full confidence making her giggle slightly. "Well, for me, it's either planning with my mother, or just sitting in my room, laying on my couch as I drown myself in Shakespeare's one too many fantasies." she says, with a sigh making my raise my eyebrows in appreciation for the girl in front of me. "You read Shakespeare?" I asked, to which she hums a 'yes', "Which tale is your favorite?" I asked her as she sighs deep in thought. Maybe that was a difficult question... "Honestly, it's difficult to choose one but if I had to choose one for a lifetime end then it would definitely be," she paused for a bit, "Romeo and Juliet." she finished, making me raise my eyebrows in shock. "And why that tale?" I asked out of curiosity, to which she smiled, as she bowed her head down slightly, which to me looked really cute. It looked like as if she was almost embarrassed to tell me about this. "I have always been fond of the true love stories that he portrays in his books. You know, the one where you would do absolutely anything for your soulmate and at some point would even die for them. It's the kind of love where you are reassured that your partner will do anything for you in order to get your love. That's the kind of love that I want. Old. Rekindled. Alive. A never ending fire." she said as she turned to me, while I just stared at her, thinking about what good have I done to deserve such a pure soul like her. Never in my life did I ever think that I would find a soulmate but there is just something about Anabelle that makes me want to protect her and keep her with me. To love her like no other... And to cherish our love till the end of time. "Stefan?" she calls out to me, making me snap out of my trance. "Can I show you something? It's something that I don't like to share to anyone at all, so I trust you to keep this between us. Understood?" she asks, to which I just nod in complete trust. Never in a million years would I ever break her trust.. She smiles at my answer as she pulls my hand to a small room around a corner at the back of the palace. "Just watch your head as you step inside." she warns before I stepped inside the room, stopping right at the entrance in complete shock. Oh my god... Is this...? "Welcome to my art room, Stefan." --------------------------------------------------
