Chapter 9-Danger Between The Two Souls

1816 Words
Anabelle's POV: Never in my life have I felt so loved and happy.... It has been a good few days ever since the royals heard about Stefan and I's current status and I have been the most happiest during that time and period. The royal family was very happy to hear about us and they can not wait before we get married and get into our respective roles in the castle. Meanwhile, Stefan and I have been meeting at each other's side every day since then, well it is mostly Stefan coming to visit me simply because he can not keep his hands to himself. Sometimes he would kiss me in the middle of the hallways, and the other times we may have crossed the lines of purity but we can leave that topic for another time. Today, I was ready to meet my mum since she called me for some urgent news and I was just walking down the stairs, careful not to trip with my huge dress, when suddenly I was rudely stopped by someone who was blocking the staircase. And by that very peculiar posture I got to know exactly who it is. "Good evening, Your Highness." The arrogant voice said, immediately telling me exactly who it is behind that innocent facade. The brute. Louis. "Good evening, Louis." I said before side stepping his frame, only to be blocked by him again as he turned around to face me with that arrogant smirk, making me roll my eyes in aggravation. "How are you feeling? Are you going to starve yourself again?" He asked, like the brute he is to which I just scoffed and tried to find someone who can get me out of his reach. "Look I am all up for some jokes but it can wait, my mother is expecting me." I said before I found a space to leave, but that brute only grabbed my arm and pulled me close. "But what about me, Ana? Am I not enough for you?" He asked, faking his innocence by pouting his lips ashe showed me his worst puppy eyes. I just stared at him from top to bottom incredulously, just questioning his behaviour. What on earth is wrong with him? "Louis I am not up for your silly jokes so please move to the side and let me go. My mother is expecting me." But that brute still kept a strong hold on my arm as he still held me back, and I'm pretty sure that by the end of this I am going to end up with a huge hand imprint on my arm. "Ana, I am just trying to get to know you better. I mean since you will be joining our family soon, I must know my sister in law better." He said, as he slides his hand to my waist and tries to pull me closer, but I prevent that by keeping my hands on his chest to prevent any proximity between us. "Louis, firstly, I do not like the idea of your hands on me so please I would suggest to put them back where they were. Secondly, for you it's Anabelle, not Anna. Be in your limits Louis. Otherwise I will definitely put you back behind bars again." I tried to warn him but he just chuckled darkly, causing shivers to run down my spine. "You might have been in control for now. But just you wait darling," He paused only to run his disgusting finger down the side of my cheek, making me frown and feel repulsed with his touch, "I will make you my queen, soon enough." He said with finality, and that statement alone did not scare me, but on the contrary I start to laugh out loud at his delirious statement. This man must be out of his head if he thinks that I would be his queen... "Louis I probably think that you should rest your head because there is no way in hell, that I would ever be your Queen. Stefan is the only man for me and sadly, you do not fit the criteria of a man." I said before turning around and leaving his insulted self on the stairs, hoping that I had knocked some sense into him, regardless of the things that I might face. ---------------------------------------------------- 3rd Person's POV: The royals have been sitting in the meeting lounge for quite some time, patiently waiting for the Young heir of the Jones family to arrive just to discuss formalities. The old Voldor king was patiently waiting with a smile on his face as he urged his subjects to do the same. The vile Voldor was huffing and puffing all the while they were waiting for Anabelle to arrive just because of his impatience. The young Voldor heir was awaiting the arrival of his one true love, just to see her again, even if he just saw her this morning. The youngest heir on the other hand sit in her chair uncomfortably as she kept noticing the stares of her perpetrator, looking at her prudely with a smug smile on his face. The Queen however, was just tapping her foot and kept looking looking at the watch in her hand, wondering where her daughter could have wandered off to. All impatient thoughts stopped when the young heir of the Jones family finally strutted into the meeting room with a confident step, completely brushing off the conversation that she previously had with Louis. "Good evening everyone. My apologies for the delay I was caught up with a certain....disruptance." She paused before she called Louis a disruptance, completely unfazed by the tight grip the brute had on her arm and the disgust that he gave to the young Jones. "Ah Anabelle! So glad that you could join us at this very short notice, please have a seat. " The lady urged her daughter to sit down in an empty chair just to hear what she had to say. As soon as Anabelle took her respective place at the meeting table, Louis had burst through the doors which almost perplexed everyone because normally they would not expect Louis to have a sour mood this early in the day. They would expect him to have a smug face full of ego even at urgent meetings like these. "So mother, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Anabelle asked, completely ignoring Louis' mood in the morning as she moved to more important matters. "Anabelle, after many consultations and discussions with Stefan and Charles, we have finally decided to give up our respective roles as the heads of the royal family." She announced and it was an understatement to say that that was a shock to the people present at the table. But the seniors only chuckled lightly as they shook their heads at their reactions. "Now now. Don't be so shocked at this because we have decided to give our titles to Anabelle and Stefan, now that we have arranged their date of betrothal." The king said excitedly, but the only excitement shown during that time was from the young Heir Charolette who seemed quite ecstatic at the thought of Anabelle joining their family. But the moment was short lived as there was a loud bang at the table followed by the screeching of chairs. "What?! This is outrageous! What. Why would you give up your throne for these two?" Louis spoke up about this entire matter, enraged from head to toe after his encounter with Anabelle at the staircase. "Why it is because these two will be taking up the royal thrones! Even if we are not dead yet." King Charles said, chuckling as he tried to make light of the situation but this only made the vile man next to Louis scoff in disbelief. "Charles don't be ridiculous. How can you possibly give the throne to these two imbeciles, who don't even know a single thing about the palace and their royal responsibilities?" The vile man questioned and the young princess could not help but gasp in horror at what he called the two of them, to which the Queen stood up in defense of the two young royals. “Henry now that is enough. You are clearly not in your right state of mind and everyone can see that. Stefan and Anabelle are absolutely perfect for the respective roles no matter what you think. So it is either stay in this kingdom or we will be forced to banish you from these lands.” The Queen said, the finality in her voice indicating no joke in her tone as she warned the two Voldor men. They wanted to give her a piece of their mind, but all they could do is just roll their eyes, as if they just heard the biggest joke of their lives, finally sitting down in their respective seats. “So Ana, Stefan, as we were saying you both are our next generation and we would love it if you two take this kingdom by your hands. It is time that we step down and take a rest before we actually die of age.” The old man joked as the two love birds and the youngest Voldor heir chuckled under their breaths. “Mother I think this is absolutely a huge step for both Stefan and I and we would love to take over the kingdom if that is what you want.” Anabelle said, still unsure as to why her own mother would give away the kingdom in her hands. “Of course my darling, we really do want to hand over our kingdoms to you two. And not only that we also want to set a wedding date for the two of you for your betrothal! I think that it’s time for you to settle down as a married couple after the two of you have finally sorted things out.” The old man chipped in, and as soon as he mentioned the wedding date in front of the two Voldor men in the corner, they stood up abruptly and stormed out of the room, not leaving a single word for argument. “Uncle Charles, it will be our honor to serve for our kingdom’s. It will be one of the greatest rule of history. And we will make sure of it.” Stefan said, as he turned to Anabelle, holding her hand underneath the table as the two gazed at each other with nothing but love and affection. On the other hand, things seemed to escalate for the Voldor men, as they plan their next move. They will make sure that Stefan and Anabelle will be out of the way, even if it meant that they had to kill them in the process. They just have to move very calculated. --------------------------------------------------
