Secret Revealed

I ravaged her lips, hungry for more than just the intricacies of her mouth Camille pulled away from me, and it did not surprise me when she slapped me hard across the cheek. “Stay the f*****g hell away from me.” She cursed out, stomping away with a loud thud to her fragile feet. I watched her leave and my resolve strengthened to get her back. If only I could end things with Chloe and dissolve our marriage without hurting the amnesty my pack receives from her father. My marriage to Chloe, the daughter of the silver Raven Pack, was done under duress. The pack needed amnesty against the rogue attack and the only way to get it, required a union between the silver Raven Pack and the Ruby Pack. To prove my worth to my father that I could handle the Alpha position, I got married to Chloe. “You're home early.” She said, a little bit surprised by my presence. “The ball did not go as planned.” I responded, making the conversation short and to the point. “I went to see the ob-gyn today and she said that we can try for another baby this month.” Chloe informed elatedly. This made it the fourth time Chloe and I tried to have babies. She had suffered from three miscarriages and one stillbirth as a result of her chronic drinking. The pressure for an heir from the pack and my father kept me going as I tried to convince myself each time we lost a baby that she would learn her lesson. “I am tired Chloe, maybe some other time.” I dismissed her, not interested in another epic fail. I regret my marriage to her, I regret taking hasty decisions because I feared scrutiny from the pack and my father and I wanted out of this situation. “You don't have a say on when you are ready to have s*x with me and when you aren't. I want to get pregnant tonight and you will do as I say.” She commanded violently, intoxicated by alcohol. My wolf seethed angrily, taking over me and the primal growl that fell off my lips caused her to cower in fear. I tolerated her but not anymore. “I want a divorce Chloe. You will get a draft from my lawyer by the end of tomorrow. I expect you to have returned back to your pack by the time I arrive from work tomorrow.” I said with finality. Chloe laughed hysterically like she had a missing screw and staggered past me, before speaking in a slurred out voice. “You are nothing without me Gustavo. The moment I walk out of this marriage, my father will withdraw his amnesty.” What Chloe said was the truth. I needed her father's support and without her in the picture, he would decline helping me. “Go ahead, file the divorce papers and watch your pack crumble in your very eyes.” She had me right where she wanted me to be. With the rogues multiplying in their numbers, a weak front would open the pack to an attack from them. “Go to hell Chloe.” I spat out with enough venom in my voice. I could not stand to be in the same space with her, her toxicity rubbed off on me. I left the house, calling my beta to come join me for a drink. “Gerald, how about a boys night out?” My beta, chuckled on the other end of the line. “What did she do this time?” ******************************* Ninety percent of the hotels, airlines and five star restaurants in Canada belonged to my family. I came from a long line of wealth, recognized by Forbes as top ten rich and famous billionaires. But still, I lacked the happiness that would make me complete. “You are still going to divorce her right?” My beta asked. My beta never liked Chloe. The day she arrived at the pack, the pack members fawned over her beauty, but my beta saw right through her. He had the gift to see through people. “I wish I could. But the pack will be left exposed and vulnerable to the rogue's attack. You, and everyone else will be endangered.” I had to endure for the sake of the pack I had the duty to protect. “We need to find someone who is willing to become an ally with no strings attached.” My beta's words mirrored my thoughts. I just had to start looking for a pack that would be willing to align with me and if I failed to find one, I would be stuck with Chloe. “She wants to have another baby and is on my neck.” I told my beta on her wanting to have a baby and he nearly choked on his drink. “It would be insane to want to get your wife pregnant when all she does all day is drink herself to stupor. Alpha, with due respect, whenever I think of your married life, my resolve not to get married strengthens.” My beta sounded traumatized and I could understand his fears. “She's back.” My beta looked at me confused. “Camille is back.” Gerald knew about Camille, he knew that she and I could not be together because of the Beta and Alpha position and he knew that I denied the pregnancy. “The baby?” My silence answered his question. According to her, she got rid of it the moment she left the pack and I believed her. Because she had no reason to keep a child rejected by its father. My only chance of being a father, I had ruined. I chose my pack over my mate bond and my wolf turned within me with regret. “Alpha, take a look at this.” There was a shocked look on my beta's face, piquing my curiosity. I stared at the picture of Camille, smiling genuinely and with her were two mini versions of me and her. My wolf recognized them instantly as my pups . I rose on my feet, my legs moving on their own accord, my beta walking beside me at my fast pace. “Find her.” I growled loudly.
