Body swap : Our last Requiem

The invitation

One consecutive days have passed after that ,

David ( Jane) is practising at the old man's place for the quest it was morning now . David was sleeping like a log after the nights practise . Lily comes into his room he fell from the bed and was sleeping in the floor .

'' David wake up '' Lily calls from outside the door . '' Why isn't he answering ? is he still sleeping ? but it' 9 o'clock in the morning already . Should i wake him up ? but he must be tired a lot , but still i have to wake him up that's for his own good right .'' she thought to herself .

'' This is the reason , i am not going in to just sneak peek at his sleeping face . Now sergent Lily is heading towards the island '' she marches into the room . '' The door is open i see , lucky '' she thought to herself .

OPening the door she was looking around for David . '' Where is he ? he's not on the bed '' she remarks . '' David , where are you ? '' she calls . '' Are you in the bathroom ? i guess not '' she remarks .

She went near the bed and sat down . '' Where did you went to David ? and here i thought i could peek on your sleeping face . It's not like that i came to peek on him though . I have to make breakfast too guess i should go , he must have went somewhere early '' she mutters .

It was at that time she hears a groaning noise behind her .

'' Mmmm ''

'' Who's that ? '' she thoughts . '' Is it you David ? '' she asks . '' I think it's coming from the side of the bed '' she gets up and comes to the other side of the bed . ''So this is where you were and here i was looking everywhere for you '' she was surprised .

'' You love to make me worry for you huh '' she says . '' He looks so cute and innocent while sleeping '' she murmurs . '' I can look at you forever like this '' she utters . She sat down beside him, .

Ruffling through his hair . '' Wish i could tell you what i feel for you , but .... i can't cause i am worried if you learn about my feelings then if you reject me , i won't be able to endure the pain and you won't behave the same way you do towards me now , forgive this coward me '' .

'' I am always worried about losing you , just like aunt Mary what if you leave us all of a sudden one day then i can't live my life without seeing you . Why do you always make me earn for you ? just why ? why am i in so much love with you ? since when did all of this started ? ''

'' Though i know that very well myself , it was when we were little and you were the bravest boy in the whole village . I still can't forget that day that one rainy day when we went to the hill side and there was a flood and everything was floating away ''

'' All the people have escaped into the nearby village and i didn't know about that and somehow i fell into the water and was floating away crying for help but no one came to help me cause they couldn't hear my crying it was when i gave in to fate and was floating away then i heard someone calling '' .

'' I was surprised to see you there calling for me , only you haven't abandoned me just like others , i was so happy you came like a hero to save me even though while saving me you were about to fall down too still you saved me , i still can't forget how heroic you were that day '' .

'' That kid back then has grown up so much now grandpa was so worried you carried me onto your back and took me to everyone .Even though you were scolded a lot by miss Mary still thank you for all of your efforts you have done all the years , you never let me feel lonely since then ''

'' Stil a thank you is not enough , even if i can't tell you my feelings still the feelings i have for you won't change no matter what happens '' she gets down onto her knees and kisses on his forehead .

It was when he opened his eyes and saw Lily right before his eyes . Lily blushed in an instant . '' Y-you are a-awake s-since w-when ? ' she stuttered . '' Lily , it's you ..w what are you doing here ? in my room '' he grunts .

'' Is it morning already ? why didn't you wake me up ? ''' he asks while yawning . ''' Ah i-its n-nothing '' she stutters . '' When did you came here i didn't realise '' he says '' ah it's so cold when did i fall down ? i didn't realise '' .

'' Then you didn't hear anything what i told you all these while ? '' she inquires . '' No not at all ... were you saying anything ? i was sleeping like a log so i didn't hear what you were saying did you said anything to me while i was sleeping ? '' he remarks .

'' No nothing i was just telling you ... '' she stops midway . '' Telling what ? '' he asks again . . '' I was just telling you ... to get your lazy ass downstairs and help me .. '' she shouts '' grandpa told you to wake up and have brakfast then start practising again today you will face me in duel '' .

'' What ? how should i help you ? and training with you ? what ? '' he was surprised .

''' No more talk '' she dashes out of the room immediately .

'' So he didn't hear me after all ? now that's a relief ? or disappointment ? i will have my chance someday on the day i defeat you i will tell you my feelings out loud in front of everyone definitely '' Lily promises herself then she heads downstairs to the kitchen .

'' I heard what you told me i was not sleeping as you thought .. but when you learn the truth that i am a girl then would you be able to take the shock ? i am still looking for David i can't forget about him but i still wonder if i will be able to recognise him or not '' Jane thoughts to herself .

'' So i won't be able to respond to your feelings ... sorry Lily , i know you are a good girl but i can't love you after all the moment when you were telling me about the old incidents i still remember it but i can't love you for that reason cause this body belongs to the boy whom you loved but i am not that boy i am Janee a girl . If only i could tell you the truth , but alas i can't untill i find my dear '' Jane thoughts to herself .

In the Kingdom where Jane ( David ) is staying right now ,

In the Duke's mansion ,

The king and his family was in the dining table having their breakfast , the maids and the servants were standing side by side . '' This dish is really good '' Jane comments . '' Is it ? this is a new dish made by the maid i am glad you liked it '' Liam says while looking at his sister .

''' He always loves clutching onto me like a snail '' Jane thought to herself . ;''' Where are you Jane save me from this guy '' she cries out inside . '' Jane , you should be careful about your table manners and your speech you seem to have become a wild boar ''' her mom comments .

'' Dear , why scolding her ? let her be in whatever way she likes she's just a little girl our princess '' remarks her dad . '' Dear , i also love her just like others , it's just if she doesn't train herself like an princess then she won't be able to have a suitor suitable for her in future '' remarks her mom .

'' Don't you want to let your girl get married ? '' she asks .

'' Stop it , it will till take three or four years till i consider about her marriage so till then let her do as she please '' retorts her dad . ''' So this woman wants me to act more girly so i can get married , that's not gonna happen cause i love Jane and i am not gonna marry some guy , she must be waiting for me in this world ... right ? '' Jane ( David) thoughts herself .

'' Well anyway this brother and father won't let me get married so i am not worried at alll '' she says with a sigh .

'' Jane ,'' her brother Liam calls '' why aren't you eating ? don't let what mom said get to you at all , we all very much love you '' . '' Hmm i know how much you love me , i am eating '' .

Meanwhile comes a messenger ,.

'' My lord , sorry to disturb you during your meal '' says he . '' No problem at all , state your reason ? ''' say her dad . '' I am here to invite you on behalf of king Christopher who's the king of the neighbouring nation ''' says the messenger .

'' Invite for what ? is there any festival or something ? '' asks Liam . '' Yes , you can call it a festival my lord , the thing is that our country holds a festival called the Hunter's quest ,or hunter's examination to choose few selected hunters fight against each other with their skills and the one who wins in the final round is given a pass with which one can travel thee countries for free of cost and special privileges etc '' explains the messenger .

''' I see , but why did you come to invite us ? '' asks her mother . '' This year we are inviting the count and Duke's of our kingdom and also of nearby castles to attend the quest as the judges the king invites you along with your family to attend the quest till the day of the winners announcement '' says the messenger .

'' I see , but where will we stay all those days ? '' asks the Duke . ''' Those who are of higher rank like you is invited to stay in the castle of the king Christopher , we are inviting few selected lords like you , we will provide you with all the hospitality we can provide '' messenger says .

'' When will the quest take place ? '' asks Liam . ''' From tomorrow , and will go on for five consecutive days '' replies the messenger .

''' Alright you can leave now , '' says the Duke . ''' Here the invitation letter and we will be waiting for your arival along with your family '' the messenger says then leaves .

'' Are you really planning to go dad ? '' asks Liam . '' The motive of the king isn't clear but what;'s the harm? maybe he felt like inviting us this year '' Duke remarks . ''' I think we should go after all it's like a festival we will enjoy '' says her mom .

'' There will come famous duke and counts among them i can look for a potential candidate for my daughter .God you finally heard my prayer '' her mom thought to herself . ''I agree with your mom let's go , we will get to meet so many new people there '' duke says .

'' I need to look after my sister there '' Liam thoughts to himself . '' We will go get ready tomorrow in the morning we will leave for the neighbouring country '' says duke .

'' What is happening ? can i look for Jane there ? then this wouldn't be bad ''' David thought to himself .

''' I need to behave like a girl there so no one will be able to recognise me as a guy '' .

'' Why are you grinning ? '' asks Liam . '' No it's nothing i am very much excited to go there there will be some fine warriors there i wish i could participate myself '' she mutters . ''' What you want to take part ? '' her mom asks .

'' I was just joking mom relax , why would i take part ? i am a girl , i don't think any girl is gonna take part in there ''' Jane chuckles . '' My daughter seems to like joking a lot just like me huh '' her father bursts out in laughter .

'' I really can't understand this girl '' her mom says with a sigh '' but don't worry i will search a good person for you ', you don;t need to worry '' .

Everyone is thinking about their own goals and searching for ways to fulfill them , '' will they be able to succeed in their objectives ? ''
