The luna ceremony

It was the day of Scarlett’s ceremony. I would have done this ages ago but Scarlett had needed some time to get her confidence up. She had come on so much from the terrified mate I almost had to drag home from a ball to the gorgeous luna standing before me today.

I could hear the twins chuckling in the background with Thea. I felt like the luckiest wolf on the planet everytime I was with my beautiful family.

Oliver and Iris had arrived in plenty time for the ceremony as Iris was acting as our witness. I still couldn’t get over those two together.

Scarlett took my breath away as she appeared in her beautiful cream gown. I stood up to address our guests.

“We stand here today to officially accept Scarlett as our Luna. My hearts needs no ceremony to tell me that she is now in her rightful place by my side. She is the light that guides me, the calm to my storm, my other half and love of my life. She has already blessed this pack with our heir, in baby Lachlan. Never have I been more complete than now standing here before you all, accepting her officially. I stand before you all today with a promise to protect her, this pack and my family with my life. A duty I know you all will share unhesitatingly. I love you Scarlett, with all my heart. Welcome to SilverOak Luna.”

I could see the tears in her eyes as she felt the weight of my emotions thought our bond. As she stood beside me and we looked out over our pack members friends and family, I felt invincible .

Our guests came over to congratulate Scarlett. Thea brought our pups over and handed Lachlan to me and Coral to Scarlett, both were cooing in delight with her.

“Thanks, we’ve got them now if you want to have some fun and catch up.” She had missed everyone at Luke’s alpha ceremony. I saw her looking around. “I thought you said Luke was coming?”

“He couldn’t get away, Edward is causing problems. He sends his love. I was hoping he might bring a certain little shewolf with him, I was looking forward to any developments occurred.”

“Luke met his mate ?” Thea asked. I shook my head.

“There was a very pretty young wolf in his pack that clearly had eyes for him. She isn’t 18 yet but it would be nice if she was his mate. He could really do with finding her soon.”

Alphas were allowed to rule without a mate, but only for so long . He would need a luna and heir eventually so he would have to consider a chosen one sooner rather than later. If he didn’t, being new to his position he would be considered a target.

Thea wandered off to see Iris and Claire at the buffet. I wished she would meet her mate soon.

Dad had shown me all the propositions that had come in for her. I didn’t want her to consider any of them. She deserved her mate. I was happy for her to visit the packs and see if she found her mate there but it was out of the question that we would let someone chose her now. Maybe later if she really didn’t find her mate but I didn’t see there was any rush. Thankfully Dad agreed as until I took over it was his decision.

Oliver rushed over looking to borrow a doctor. I had no idea what those two were up to but I linked one for him away. Life would never be dull with those two nearby, I still chuckled at the goddess’s idea to pair them up.

Oliver was seriously stronger now he was mated, more than I had expected. When he released his aura recently defending Iris even I had felt the pressure. The alpha of alphas competition was going to be interesting now.

Thea

It had been a beautiful ceremony. I tried not to cry as I listened to Jackson. I so wanted what they had. They looked so happy.

I swallowed the jealousy I felt that Luke had found a luna. It was silly that my crush hadn’t wilted yet. Luke had made it pretty clear we were just friends.

I found Iris and she gave me a hug. While I was considered beautiful, Iris was another level of beauty. Effortlessly gorgeous she had such pale colouring and dark hair that she could wear anything and look like she had stepped out of a magazine.

Her mate Oliver was also drop dead gorgeous. A proper playboy before he realised she was his mate he now had eyes for no one else.

Unfortunately he had once dated Claire our friend, they had broken up before he and Iris realised they were mates but Claire had been totally head over heels in love with him, a feeling he had clearly never returned now I see him with Iris. His eyes followed her every move.

Initially I joked that she was pregnant, which she flatly denied. However as I listened to her conversation with Claire I surveyed her body, noting the changes I had missed.

Iris was totally and 100 % pregnant, the realisation on her face was classic. Claire clearly hadn’t noticed, I think she couldn’t look at Iris after she flashed her aura when they discussed her and Oliver’s previous relationship.

Once Iris left us in search of her mate, Claire has seemed quite sad. She admitted it has been hard that Iris was Oliver’s mate but she loved her and was happy for them. Even she could see they actually are perfect together, surprisingly so. I felt her pain.

It was harder to see everyone around you so happy when you longed to meet your mate. Jackson’s kept telling me he was just around the corner. I agreed to be on babysitting duty again tonight.

Lachlan and Coral were so adorable, they made me so broody. If you were ever having a bad day a cuddle from those little munchkins could make it better.

I was hoping I would get to head off soon when a strange wolf approached me.

“Thea yes?” He asked.

“Yes?” I answered.

“Pardon the intrusion, I’ve been dying to speak with you all evening.” He smiled brightly. He seemed was handsome and seemed nice enough.

“ Well now I am all yours, how may I assist you ?” I replied sweetly.

“Well that’s it really, I was hoping.you would be mine?” He asked.

“Pardon? I’m not quite sure I understand”

“Sorry I didn’t explain myself, I’m Dylan alpha of Camrosa. I need a luna and I wondered if you would like to be it?”

“But I’m not your mate, I mean I’m flattered really but I was hoping to meet my mate.” I spluttered out.

“Of course I understand, please don’t say no just yet. The offer is open, think about it, come visit the pack. You see, I lost my mate while having our pup. As much as I would love to wait for a second chance, we know those are unlikely so I have decided it’s time to take a chosen luna. I haven’t met a girl I could ever hope to live up to my luna until tonight. So please don’t rush your decision.”

He seemed so sincere but I wanted to turn him down on the spot, I had dreamed of my mate my entire lifetime, but as the one person I hoped it could be had never materialised I wondered if I could be someone’s chosen luna.

“As you wish I will consider your offer, lovely to meet you …” I had forgotten his name .

“Dylan” he supplied. “Lovely to meet you Dylan. If you will excuse me.” I walked of I hadn’t any way of giving him an answer but if he was serious he would return surely .
