I had been on the phone to Scarlett for longer than usual because I knew something was bothering her. I hoped that she felt better by the end of my call. I could help but feel a crap mate to her sometimes. She had been so upset when we first met, then went through so much when she was attacked. A lot of the time I had been absent. I knew she took strength from me and I could tell she was wearing thin.
