I spoke to Scarlett before I went down to the start. She had been in better form this morning. I think she knew I would be home some, I was more than ready to see her again, and the twins. It was amazing how quickly you couldn’t imagine a time, when they weren’t here. I pushed all thoughts from my mind to concentrate on the task at hand.
I had set of at some pace, planning to catch Luke. I was expecting to actually catch up but I knew I could get a better time than him.
I had managed to navigate my way up to the rope bridge without error. Immediately I could see it was damaged in the middle. I didn’t have time to navigate any other way. I knew I could rely on Onyx’s speed but I didn’t trust the bridge to hold, although everyone else had obviously made it across.
