Chapter 45: Liar
Alpha Dimitri’s POV
Scarlett's eyes widened so much that I briefly wondered if she had forgotten how to blink.
They dropped lower for one brief, unavoidable second before darting back to my face. The color that rose to her cheeks was almost impressive. She immediately turned her head away and fixed her attention on the nearest tree as though it had become the most fascinating thing in the entire forest.
I said nothing.
There was nothing useful to say. I walked over to the rock where I had left my clothes, gathered them, and moved behind the nearest tree to dress.
Even after shifting back, my body still felt restless from the run. Zedd's presence lingered close to the surface, far more awake than he had been in months.
