Chapter Four

Daxton's POV

when I turned 18 everything changed, I had been dating Becca for almost 2 years, because of

how I felt about her I truly believed she was my faded mate, I mean seriously I was

crazy about her, I thought shed make a good luna one day, Becca also seemed to think we were

faded mates and always told me how she dreamt it was me like she's seen the future or something,

she made be believe all that bullsh*t. I soon found out she was certainly not my mate and she wasn't

too impressed about it, she's been texting me and calling me nonstop trying to get me to take her as a chosen mate,

I refuse to answer or let her into my mind link I swear if she sees me around the pack she's starts following me too,

its not good I don't want my mate to get the wrong idea; id never want to hurt her.

I've dreamt about meeting my mate from the moment my mother Luna Stella mentioned it to me when I was

16 years old, mum and my dad Alpha Ryan are faded mates, being with your faded mate makes you stronger

and will give you a stronger heir then what a chosen mate would which is why i wanted mine.

the week after my birthday I got up early to do patrol on the eastern boarder of the territory,

I mind linked my beta Tane that I was taking the eastern boarder and that he was to take the

northern border. "Alpha!" gamma chases voice shot through the mind link "what is it?" I asked back

chase sighed "Alpha the western boarder is clear but that runt girl looks to be up to no good, seen

her walking in the shadows toward the school" I thought about that for a moment before replying as its

not the first time I've been notified of her being out and about in the earlier hours, I linked chase that

I would sort it and that he can hit the showers and head to the pack house dining room for breakfast with

the rest of the ranked members.

I headed straight to where my gamma said she was, I kept my distance, it was a quiet cold morning and she

isn't wearing much, she stopped in front of the library looking over her shoulder "seems to know she is being watched"

my wolf rusty said to me, while she was at a stand still I took that time to really look at the runt girl

everyone seems to pick on, she's quite a pretty little thing, not a problem for a man of my size we like them small,

at about 5ft tall with Icey blue eyes and some crazy silvery white hair, not sure if its natural or dyed.

its not overly long but not short either maybe mid shoulder length, just as I was about to start examining her posture

and clothing a fresh crispy breeze hit me carrying with it the sweetest scent I've ever smelt strawberries and cream.

I knew at that moment the runt was my mate.

"Tane! "I yelled through the link, "yes alpha" he shot back, "get me all information on that runt girl as soon

as possible" I then cut the link and just stayed in this position for awhile trying to gather the courage

to do anything except sit here.

I managed to get my legs moving and headed to the large oak doors, I pushed them open and immediately got another dose of her amazingly sweet scent, i strutted over toward her and really looked at her as I spoke “ your here a little early don’t you think little wolf?”

You could se she was nervous so I ran my fingers through my hair, I think I’m a little nervous too, but when she spoke back to me in her quiet little voice it sounded like music to my ears I could hardly remember what she said as I focused on the sound of her voice instead, I let her know about the rouges roaming around in hopes she’ll stop leaving alone so early in the morning, I didn’t give her the chance to reply as I swiftly moved to leave, if I stayed any longer I would have claimed her right then and there and I knew I couldn’t do that yet, she obviously can’t scent me as her mate so I’m guessing she isn’t yet 18 other wise she would have been jumping on me I’m sure of it. Once I got out side I shifted mid air to my rusty brown wolf and ran back to the pack house to have breakfast before heading to school, I’ve got free period before lunch so I’m in no hurry.

“Tane, Chase” I asked through the link to which they promptly replied “yes alpha” I stood for a second changing into some shorts before replying “anything on the runt yet?” I waited and no response so I asked again, Chase answered slowly “yes alpha we have her and her families file in your office waiting for you, but why suddenly are you needing it so quick?” I thought for a moment before I stated “she’s my mate”.
