Chapter 9 “Do you still feel like watching a movie?” Pippin asks eventually. “Yeah.” I allow myself to stay glued to his side for a few more heartbeats before I untangle myself and straighten. “It’ll help takin’ my mind off stuff. Lemme just go get some cold sodas, these have been out for a while,” I say, knowing how much he hates lukewarm soda. When I get back to the living room, he’s picked a movie. As soon as I sit, he presses PLAY. We start out sitting next to each other, as close as we can without touching. We’ve both seen the movie before, so we’re chatting, commenting on the plot and the acting, as we eat the snacks.
