Emera was almost to the farthest edge of her pack property when she heard tires on gravel. It caught her attention and she picked up her pace to get to the property line and check it out. No one had been on that property for at least a decade. She reached the edge of the property and stood behind a big tree to keep herself out of sight. She saw a big black truck slowing driving up the old overgrown drive way, the windows were tinted and the sun glared off the windshield. Grrrr! She couldn't get a good look at the driver. She did notice, however, that the truck seemed to be loaded down with new camping equipment.
"Great!" she huffed, "Just what we need right now."
She decided to head home and would come back later and check it out more, when it was dark. Right now, she had way too much going on. She needed to get back to the house and figure out what was next in her new mission to find a mate in the next three full moons. The thought of being forced to find a mate still made her temper flair but as she had ran she had reluctantly come to terms with it. She turned from the tree with one final glance back at the black truck and took off at a dead sprint the five miles or so it was back to the pack house.

Alexander drove slowly up the over grown gravel drive way, he would have missed the turn off for sure if he hadn't of had his eyes peeled looking for it, driving about 5 miles an hour on the main highway. He barely noticed the old cast iron fence that the realtor said was on the drive way. It was over grown with vines winding through the rusty poles. After 15 minutes of trying to figure out how to get it open, he finally decided to just pull it down and figure out a way to fix it later. He kind of liked the gate it had a rustic charm to it.
As he pulled up to the end of the driveway and the old dilapidated cabin came into view, he had already started putting a mental check list of everything that needed to be done together. There was a lot that needed to be done just to be able to live there. He looked down at his watch.
"Only a few hours of day light left," he grinned to himself and climbed out of his truck. He took a deep breath of the fresh mountain air and looked around. All around him was trees and grass and bushes and flowers. "This place just might be perfect," he said out loud to himself and dropped the tailgate of his truck. "Let’s see what Irwin has put in here," he rubbed his hands together and started his hunt for the necessary camping equipment.
About an hour later he had his tent set up. Irwin had really gone all out with this one; it was one of the nice canvass tents that people used for long term camping. It had three windows all covered in clear plastic and a spot for a pot belly stove if he ever needed one. He had to give it to Irwin, he sure knew and thing or two, and from the looks of the property and the cabin, he would probably be in it for a while.
After a quick water break he started looking for rocks to build a good fire pit so he could have a nice campfire. When he was finished, he stretched and looked around. He definitely needed to go collect some firewood before it got any darker.
" There is no eating until the fire is made," he laughed to himself and wandered into the trees to find some wood.
