I scream in a way I never scream, but it’s not just the pain this time, it’s also the loss. I was so close. I could have seen her. I never even saw her.
My skull feels like it’s aflame. My head hurts so badly I wish I could just twist it off my neck and throw it away and beg for someone to bring me a new one. Every nerve of my body feels like there are little explosions still going on, and if I could just dip my whole self in ice maybe it would help.
