We Need Her

Aethelwulf POV It's been three days of Kiera, Preston's Luna, staying in the dungeon. Tasha hasn't fully recuperated, and the priority is dying in multiples every single day, every time deaths are being recorded. Scrolling through my tablet, signing some e-documents my PA sent to me, I couldn't sleep last night. I decided to make use of my time. After going through the last document, I signed it and sent it to my PA and then sat up and stretched. Soon enough Preston will come to my door. Being an Alpha is so tiring. I miss being in my comfy room, in my office seat, and just watching wrestling matches whenever I feel tired. I walked to the bed and lay down. Just then I heard a knock on my door. I already perceived who it is. I sighed and stood up and opened the door. Preston walked in, and we shook hands and locked back the door. “Good morning, man, how's Tasha doing?” I asked, and he shook his head, then let out a heavy breath. “She's recovering slowly; it might take up to three more days or more for her to fully recuperate, and you know that we don't have that time. My people are dying each day; we have to let Kiera out of there,” he said, and I nodded. I wanted to suggest that long ago, but I'm trying to be careful here to avoid any form of suspicion. “But bro, why not reject and divorce her as your mate so you can be with Tasha instead?” I said, and he shook his head in disagreement. “She's my Luna; she can't be with anyone else but me,” he said, and that sounded so unreasonable to me. How can he be this cruel? He f*****g has another mate and still wants to suffer his Luna, while I can't talk much on this. “That's your choice,” I said as I walked to my wardrobe and picked up a clean set of towels. “Please, bro, go to the dungeon and pick her up. I didn't let them give her food, just little drips of water. It's just a form of punishment. She knows I love her enough to punish her.” He requested I hit his shoulders lightly and walked out of my room. I couldn't even bring myself to reply to what he just said. What does he mean by love her enough to punish her? My brother's sense of reasoning is out of this world. I took a deep breath and walked into the bathroom, took a rapid bath, and walked out. I put on a black tank polo and black baggy pants. Likewise, I applied body lotion and walked out of my room. Furthermore, I signaled my driver to come drive me. He immediately walked to the car and opened it, and I entered. “To the pack dungeon,” I said, and he nodded and drove off immediately. After a few minutes he arrived, and I stepped down and walked into the gate. “Greetings, Alpha Aethelwulf of the Moonlight Pack,” the soldiers present greeted me, and I nodded. One of them tailed behind me immediately. They all already knew who I came for. I traced her scent to her cell, and they opened it, and I walked in. He unclipped her hands, and I held her from falling to the ground. She's rather weak and can barely open her eyes fully. I lifted her up to my arms and turned to the fool that opened up her cell for me. “Why did you clip her hands in that manner? No matter what happens, she's still your Luna; you should show some level of respect!” I voiced out, and he muttered an apology as I walked out in a rage and made my way into my car immediately. I don't blame the guards that picked her up like a slut, nor do I blame the soldiers who treated her like a petty thief; it's all Preston's fault. He let them treat his Luna like a commodity. “To the Alpha's mansion,” I said to my driver, even though that information might not be needed as he already knows where to take me. I looked at her face, and it's all filled with bruises. f**k! These men need to be handed to death. How dare they touch their Luna? Her lips are even swollen. I just hope they didn't have their way with her because if they did, I won't mind snapping their necks off, all of them. I wouldn't mind at all. Furthermore, I don't mind what he thinks when I do that. For now I will make sure I teach every one of them a lesson they won't forget about so soon, that's if they didn't do anything extra to her. I could feel anger erupting from within me. I gritted my teeth and folded my fist. This is pissing the hell out of me; it feels like a federal offense to me. I shouldn't be feeling this way, right? “We're here, sir,” my driver announced, cutting through my line of thoughts. I pushed the door open and lifted her up in my arms and walked into the house, straight up to her room. The doctors and nurses sent by Preston perhaps were already in her room. They immediately connected an IV cannula into her veins, then another began to wipe her body with warm water and a neat towel. “Alpha Aethelwulf, you'll have to step out for a few minutes,” the nurse said to me, and I nodded. I stared daggers at the male doctor, and he immediately stepped out with me as well. After a few minutes they seemed to have finished cleaning her up. They walked out of the room, and I walked in and saw her sleeping peacefully like the princess she is. I stepped out of the room immediately. I have to control my mind so it doesn't go back to the memories of the blissful night we had together. “Hey,” I called out to a maid cleaning the floor. “Check up on her every thirty minutes, work hand in hand with the doctor, and ask them before you do anything,” I ordered, and she nodded and then strode out of the house. I don't feel so hungry. I made my way to the hospital. The minute I strode down, I put on the safety clothing and walked into the hospital. Preston stood at a corner discussing with the doctors. After their brief conversation, he walked up to me with a deep frown on his face. “We received a signal from the Blood River Pack; we need her.”
