Detective Ryans POV
As I escorted Chief Lewis to my car, my phone rang. “Detective Ryans.”
“Hey gorgeous, it’s me, Xavier.”
“Oh hey, can you hang on one moment? I have to put my boss in the back of my car.” I put the phone on top of my car. I read Lewis his rights then placed him in the back seat. I grabbed the phone to continue our conversation. “Okay, I’m back. Did you find Chancey or O’Grady?”
“Chancey is okay, scared but okay. The last time I saw O’Grady, he was upside down in a wreck, still breathing. Why are you arresting your boss?”
“He was the one trying to kill Mack. I saw him kill the coroner. What do you mean, O’Grady was in a wreck? Was our daughter harmed?”
