UKNOWN POV
“So, what are we going to do about the loudmouth back at the hideout?” Bubba asked his partner. They had been waiting for a phone call from their boss for more than an hour and he was getting very edgy. He can tolerate most things, but the things he can’t tolerate are dealing with stupidity and arrogance. Those things guaranteed his wrath and no one wants to be around him when he is extremely pissed off!
Frank stared out the window for a while before he answered. “Well, I think the boss will have a pretty good idea on how to deal with our ‘loud-mouthed’ friend.” Frank hated waiting, it seemed to be a longer and longer wait every time. He was about to vocalize his disdain for waiting until his phone rang. “Yes?”
“Were you successful with the extraction?”
Frank had a little trouble containing his wounded pride with the insult of the question. “Of course, the ‘extraction’ was successful, do you think of me as some kind of an i***t?!”
“I don’t think you’re an i***t that can’t obey orders but you ARE an i***t for thinking that you can speak to me in such a manner!”
“I apologize, what should we do about Johnny? He is extremely annoying and severely pissing off Bubba.” Frank could see the anxiety in Bubba’s look when he brought up the question.
“Is it absolutely necessary that he have to be disposed of?”
“I am afraid so, he has become a hindrance to the mission and it is only a matter of time before he causes a major slip up.” Frank nodded for Bubba to start the car.
“Alright, make it look like an accident then call me when you are done.”
Frank ended the call in frustration about his situation, he knew that he had to regulate his emotions so that he wouldn’t go on a rampage, so he took several calming breaths. As soon as he calmed down enough, he looked at Bubba. “We have the green light to dispose of our friend and we are to call him when we are done.” I leaned my head back to try to staved off a migraine. “Let’s head back to the hide out.” Bubba turned on the music and drove back to the abandoned lumber yard. When they both arrived, they found the front door ajar and no one was watching the place.
Frank looked at Bubba. “Make sure that you weapon is ready, be very careful.” Frank said as he armed himself while Bubba did the same. Neither of them knew what exactly they were up against. They slowly crept forward until they were both on either side of the entrance. Franked looked at Bubba and mouthed his instructions. “On 3 we go in, weapons with the safety off. One…two…three!”
They both burst through the front door, but neither of them could see anything out of the ordinary so they moved forward. There were no sounds to indicate that anyone else was present. “Bubba, do you see Johnny?” I whisper yelled.
Bubba scanned the room more closely before answering Frank. “I don’t see or hear him, which in itself is not good!”
Frank nodded his agreement. “We should check on the prisoner.” They were not prepared to deal with what they saw next. Johnny was contorted in an anguished position propped up against the wall and the prisoner was nowhere to be seen.
“Uh, Frank, I think that you should call the boss, I don’t think that he is going to like this one bit!” Bubba said as he knelt down next to Johnny’s body to check for a pulse. Once he found none he stood back up.
Frank was already dialing the number. “Hey, boss, we have a little problem.” Frank said, slightly nervous about the boss’s reaction. “No, we haven’t dealt with Johnny because someone already took care of him!” Frank began to pace, frustrated that this mission is going sideways…fast! “The main problem is that our prisoner has escaped!”
When Frank hung up the phone, Bubba could sense the danger in the air around them. “What did boss have to say?”
“If we don’t find the escapee in the next 36 hours, the boss will deal with us…personally!?
