Vanessa (Chapter 23)
I am soaking in the bath tub, just enjoying the hot water and bubbles when all hell breaks lose. Archer comes stumbling into the bathroom covered in blood. He stares at me and then his whole body relaxes. I scream and run to him as he drops to the ground. I cradle his head in my lap as he looks at me with dazed eyes. “I had to make sure you were alright Ves. I was so scared they got to you.” I kiss his lips gently, “I am safe, what happened, who did this!” I realize I am screaming. My wolf is ready to come out and kill whoever did this. The bathroom door opens again, and I shift without even realizing it. Nobody will touch my mate again!
