I woke up that morning alone in my bed. I could have sworn that Kalen came to comfort me last night, but I must have been wrong. My father made it very clear last night that I would never be with Kalen, and that I would marry Fafnir. I didn't even know this guy, for all I knew he could be an ugly toad or even a monster out for power. At this point I didn't like my father, he was keeping me from my mate.
"Miss it is time for you to get dressed." I looked over to Adriana standing there waiting for me.
"This early?" I asked.
"Miss it is 9:30, you father has requested you for brunch." Adriana said.
"Fine, why does he want to have brunch though?" I asked.
"Your father wishes for you to meet your betrothed today." Adriana said.
"Of course." I said.
"Please follow me so that you can get cleaned up and I can get you all dressed and ready for the day." Adriana said.
Can I have a few moments alone? " I asked.
"Yes, but only 20 minutes, than you have to be ready." She said.
"Alright thank you." I said and she left.
"Kalen I wish that you were." I said out loud.
"You called milady." I turned to see Kalen standing there in my door.
"You are here." I said in disbelief.
"You called so of course I am." He said.
"What about Natalia?" I asked.
"Your father chose her as my bride, but she recently chose another man to be with as it was never her wish to marry me in the first place." He replied.
"So she is not marrying you then? I asked.
"No she isn't." He replied and I smiled at that.
"So what will you do now?" I asked.
He pulled me into a tight hug and kissed the top of my head. The simple affection done things to me that I didn't understand but I enjoyed it. Before the moment could last any longer though he was gone and Adrianna stepped into my room with an unreadable expression on her face. I wanted so badly to talk to her but she didn't seem like the type to talk boys, plus she seemed have reasons why she didn't want me being with Kalen.
"It's time to get ready." She said.
"Understood." I said.
I followed Adriana out of the room and into the corridor. She lead me down many different paths before stepping into and large room. Once she stepped aside, I realized that it was a bath house and a very beautiful one at that. It was enchanted with gems, diamonds, rubies, and beautiful spring water. It was the most amazing thing that I had ever seen.
"This is the natural spring and is used for baths by the royal family only. There is one for the royal females and one for the royal males." Adriana said.
"This place is incredible." I said in an amazed voice.
"You take you time and get cleaned up and relax and I will be back shortly with you clothing." Adriana said and disappeared.
I pulled off my clothing and slowly slipped into the water. It was like cleansing the soul and it was the most amazing thing ever and I loved it. I could sit in here all day. The water was calming and soothed my aching muscles. If could stay in here then I would, and never have to meet Fafnir. He would be a heartless jerk no doubt that just wants the crown. I wanted to marry for love and not for the crown.
"Miss it is time for you to get out and go meet with you father." Adriana said reappearing, and groaned because I didn't want to.
"Fine I guess." I said.
I stepped out of the water onto the platform where she held out a towel for me to dry. Once I was dry she hand me a plain pink sun dress and guided me over the vanity where she dried my hair and styled it with pink roses and braids. She applied light makeup and a small pearl necklace. To be honest it was simple yet beautiful.
"Now to put on the real dress. I needed you to wear something that wouldn't mess up you hair." She said.
"What kind of dress am I wearing then?" I asked.
"It will be somewhat similar to the one that you are wearing now, only it will have floral print and be strapless. Fafnir bought it for you and requested that you wear it." Adriana said and handed it to me.
I put it on carefully and saw that it was slightly shorter than what I liked and strapless with roses printed on it. That would explain why she chose roses for my hair. I sighed, I was not ready to meet the man that my father had chose for me to marry. It was a nightmare to think that he was going to force me into a loveless marriage with some d**k that wanted nothing more than to have the crown. Adriana opened the door for me and motioned for me to follow her and I did as she instructed. I followed her to to the gardens where my father waited and a man with dark gray hair, intense blue eyes, and pointed ears. He worn a crown across his forehead with blue jewel in the middle. His outfit was spiked and glowed blue in places.
