The wings of our waiter was black, and no one else saw this. It wasn't just an ordinary black, this was pitch black and sparkling, it made his wings look amazing. His hair was a pale white and his eyes were as dark as the night themselves and skin so pale that it made snow look dark. I looked at my mother and tried to remain calm. Could she see what I was seeing or was my eyes playing tricks on me. I looked up at the waiter and he just smiled. He knew that I could see him, he wanted me to see him. He sat our food down and left. I watched him walk away, and fear was rising in my chest. He had a long black tail and pointed ears. At least he looked some what human.
"Hey mom, I know that you don't talk about dad a lot, but I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about him?" I asked. At that she quit eating and looked up.
"There really isn't much to talk about, but when we get home I will tell you everything I know." She replied.
"Okay mom." I said and smiled.
We both started digging into the appetizer and I was happy. I did not realize how hungry I was until now. I glad to finally have food in my system. We finished our appetizer just as our dinner come out. This time the waiter looked normal, thank goodness. I didn't waste no time in devouring my steak, baked potato, and steamed broccoli. I looked up and my mom was finished as well. She laughed at how quick we had eaten. To be honest I was to full to really eat anything else. We stood up and walked over to the register and my mother paid.
"So are you excited to see the movie?" My mother asked as we walked out of the restaurant and toward the theater.
"Yes I am. I hope that the movie is as good as the previews say they are." I replied.
"Me too, I really don't want to sit through a horrible movie." My mother said and I laughed.
"I am sure that it will be really good. Everyone at school says that the movie is really good." I told my mother.
She just laughed at my comment and we continued to walk in silence. When it was dark like this, it seemed like the city was never ending and alley ways were a dark abyss, they went on forever. I never did like the city at night, to many dark corners to hide in. We weren't far from the theater, I could already see it. I can't wait to watch the movie, and go home. I was hoping to learn more about my father right now. As soon as mom paid for our tickets we went in. I was so excited to watch this movie. Mom bought the popcorn and she also bought our drinks and we hurried into the theater to get the best seats in the house.
It wouldn't be long now till the movie started. I looked over at my mother and that is when I knew that I was going crazy, her skin was pale and she had gorgeous red wings that glowed. He ears were pointed and I seen the hind of a red tail. Her hair was a light silver and her eyes were gold. I rubbed my eyes and looked at her again, and she looked normal. What was wrong with my eyes. My mother looked over at me and smiled at me. This had to be the best birthday present a girl could receive. The moment that the movie started, I stopped rambling in my head. I looked up at the screen and watched the previews for all the movies coming out in the next couple of months.
Not long after the movie started. I honestly didn't pay much attention what was going. I was focused on the hot guy that was playing the lead role. I have to say the girl in the movie sure was lucky. She got to kiss Mr. Hunk. How I would love for him to take my first kiss. He was trying to save her, just as much as she was trying to save him. It honestly didn't make no sense. The movie was amazing, but over to soon. I was happy that it was over, because it really wasn't as good as my friends at school said that it would be. We walked out of the theater but I felt like I was being followed, but no one would follow me with my mother here, would they? I looked over my shoulder to see a beautiful silver man following us. His a beautiful color of pale and was glowing like all the other creatures that I had seen but some how different, the way he looked made me want to go to him. He had stunning white hair and beautiful silver wings that shimmered. He had eyes like the deep blue sea, and was filled out with muscles.
I quickly jerked my head back around before I ran into something and headed home. I knew that he was still flowing me, but there was really nothing I could do. If I confronted him in front of my mother, there was a chance that she would think that I was crazy. Though I did feel like I had bonded with that strange creature in an odd sense. At that point I knew that I had to be going crazy. Nobody in their right mind would feel that way about anyone, so soon. I really was going crazy and I need help fast.
"Hey mom, do you ever see people differently then you should?" I asked and she stopped dead in her tracks.
"What do you mean differently?" She asked. Her voice had an edge to it that I had not yet heard.
"I just... I mean lately I have been see people that have tails, wings, and pointed ears. One even tried to talk to me." I said and she looked at me angrily.
"That's nonsense, there is no such thing in stuff like that." My mother said.
"I know what I saw mom." I yelled.
"Don't raise your voice to me." My mother said in a menacing voice. What did I say that her so upset with me?
"Mom, what did I do to make you so upset?" I asked.
She never got the chance to answer my question though. A creature with black wings and one with gray snatched my mother right before my eyes and disappeared with her. At first I was in shock, and wasn't sure what to do. I stared blankly at the streets and never moved. What just happened and why did they take my mother from me. I didn't realize it until it was to late. I screamed for my mother right in the middle of street and people started staring. I lowered my head and the tears just keep coming. Without my mother I was lost. I walked and walked until I heard a car horn. I realized that I was in the middle of the street and before I knew it someone knocked me out of the way.
I looked up to see the same man from before and this time the close contact made my body reacted and wanted to be closer to him. I knew better than that though. If I threw myself at him, I could get into a lot of trouble. I couldn't help what I was feeling. Looking into his eyes was like getting lost in the Caribbean sea, but wouldn't mind getting lost if it was this man. I snapped my mind back to reality and what was really going on.
"Are you alright?" He asked, he almost sounded British.
"Yes, thank you for saving me." I said.
"Anytime." he replied.
"How did you get to me so fast. I was almost certain you were pretty far behind me." I said.
"I was closer than you think." He replied.
"Why is it that you look so different than everybody else around here. Don't you dare tell me I am crazy to, I can see the wings, the ears, the tail, the eyes, and the hair. You are not human." I said, as I stood up with his help.
"You are correct. I am not human. Your father sent me to get you. He doesn't want me to bring you just yet, because now we need to find out where your mother was taken." He said.
"You know who my father is?" I asked.
"Yes I know who your father is, I also know who you mother is." He said.
"Who are they?" I asked.
"I really can't tell you much, not with revealing what your father wants to tell you. I can tell you this much, We are all fairies. You mother is an evil fairy that fell in love with a good fairy, your father. It caused an uproar among the the courts and she fled. That is all that I can tell you." He said.
"How am I suppose to believe all this. To me it sounds like I hoped on the crazy boat and you have been there the whole time, just a sailing away in all the craziness." I said trying not to laugh.
"I am honestly telling you the truth. I will help you find you your mother, it you will let me." He said.
"Well, if you are going to help me, I should at least know your name." I said.
"How silly of me, I forgot to tell you my name. My name is Kalen fair lady, and what might your name be?" He asked.
"My name is Freya." I replied.
"That is a beautiful name, and for such a beautiful lady." Kalen said.
"So how are you going to help me find my mother." I asked.
"It is probably best that we start at you house, and try to figure out what your mother was up to all these years." Kalen said.
"I am not aloud to go into my mothers room. She told me I could go anywhere in the house but there. For some reason she never wanted me in the house." I said.
"That would most likely be a good place to start." Kalen said.
"We had to take a Taxi to get here. We live out the city limits. It is easy to walk home from school, but other than that you have to take a taxi to get anywhere." I said.
"Well let me grab a taxi for us." Kalen said.
He whistled as soon as a Taxi drove by and it stopped. Kalen opened the door for me and I stepped and him after me. It was a short drive, but it seemed to take forever. To the human eye Kalen looked normal. He had the same beautiful hair as he did in his fairy form, blue eyes, 6.5, and very muscular. His facial structure was chiseled and manly. He had a real nice tan to add to all the beauty, but I knew what he really looked like. Yes he was handsome either way, I was drawn to him no matter what he looked like.
My heart throbbed at the sight of him, and he looked over and smiled. He had caught me starring, but for some reason I could not take my eyes of of him. It was almost like I was under a spell and there was no getting away. I looked into those beautiful eyes of his and it was like I could see right into his soul. I really should pull my eyes away, but how could I? I looked down at my hands, and blushed.
"It is alright to stare, you know." Kalen said.
"I wasn't staring." I retorted.
"Yeah, okay. Tell that to someone who will actually believe you." Kalen said.
"Whatever." I said.
"It's only natural to stare at one's mate." Kalen said.
"Mate?" I asked.
"I will have to explain that one later. You already have to much to deal with." He replied.
Not long after he said that, the taxi come to a stop. I paid the driver and got out of the car. I stopped dead in my tracks though, our house was gone. I was nothing more than an empty plot. It was like there was never anything here to begin with. No mail box, no sidewalk, no fence, nothing. I don't understand. I felt myself falling to the ground and I didn't see the need to catch myself. I didn't need to catch myself, because Kalen caught and keep me from falling. I looked up at him and just looked at me sadly.
"What is going on? I know I am not going crazy. I lived at that house my whole life, and suddenly it is all gone." I said.
"Calm down Freya, You going hurt yourself." Kalen said.
"Alright." I said, and I took a deep breath, but I didn't stop crying.
"You mother is covering her tracks. She is hiding from someone and we need to get to her before they do. You hear me?" Kalen said. I nodded my head.
So we headed out to find my mother and hopefully save her and find answers. It was time that someone told me what was going on. First my mother is an evil fairy in love with my father a good fairy, secondly my mother lied to me, and apparently I have a mate.
