Chapter 3: The Search Part 1

Kalen suggested that we stay at motel, at least for the night, because I had no where to sleep and he lived in Fairy realm. It was late and at that point, I honestly didn't care. I needed to sleep after the long day that I had. My mom was gone and my home was gone I thought that everything was perfect in my life, but it wasn't. I looked over at Kalen as we walked into our room, and couldn't help but marvel at how amazing he looked. His hair, face and hypnotizing eyes gave me this feeling that I couldn't pull away from; This strange but longing feeling that I needed to get closer to him, No! I had to get closer and know more about him. My heart was thumping loudly in my chest, and I couldn't see straight. I looked away from him, and let my heart calm down. I have never felt this way, and it was to soon for me to feel these kind of feeling for someone that I barely knew. I will admit that he was an attractive man, but right now that was all that I was feeling. I jerked my head to the side and laid down on the bed. I wasn't really fond of taking showers at night, so I would take one in the morning. I tossed and turned during the night, memories of the day playing through my head while I tried to process everything I had witnessed. "So much for a normal day." I complained in my thoughts as sleep finally had come over me. Morning came to soon and I really wanted nothing more than to just continue sleeping. I rolled over onto my side and buried myself in the blankets trying to block out the light. I laid in bed until Kalen came in a got me up. Ugh why can't he let me sleep. "Time to get up missy." He said. "Just a few more minutes please." I said. "No you need to get up." Kalen said. "Please I really just want to sleep right now." I said. "If you want to find your mother than we had best get started now." Kalen said. "Five more minutes or I'm gonna throw this pillow at you." I argued. "Get up now or I am taking the blankets." Kalen said. I grumbled and threw the pillow as hard as I could at him, hoping he would get the message that I have a loving relationship with sleep that I tend to stay very loyal to. I wrapped my arms up in the blankets in case he tried to rip them off me. No sooner than I did that he yanked at the blankets. The force that we were both pulling at caused him to fall forward and on top of me. I was shocked at the sudden close proximity of our faces. I saw a blush creep on his face and before I knew it, he started tickling me and I screamed trying to get away. He was relentless, and I was at his mercy. I struggled and tried to kick him away and defend my ticklish spots, but it was to no avail. I knew that he would not give up till I got out of the bed. "Alright, alright I'm up. I'll go take a shower now." I said holding my hands up in defense. "Thank you." He said as he got off the bed. I grumbled as I crawled out the bed and hoped into the shower. As I was showering I realized that I didn't have any clean clothes to wear. Wonderful. I got out of the shower and grabbed the rob off the hook and put it on. I walked out to the room to see that there was a bag on the bed from JcPenny's. I opened the bag to find a clean change of clothes and under garments and they were the right size. I was quite shocked. "Do you like them?" Kalen asked. "Yes I love them, but when did you have time to get them?" I asked. "Last night after you feel asleep and went and got them. Hope you don't mind but I looked at the size of clothing you wear and your shoe size." He said. "Did you take my clothes off?" I asked. "No I didn't. I promise." He replied. I took the bag into the bathroom, and got dressed. He had bought me a beautiful shirt the was lace in the back and red in the front. He bought me a a white tank top, and a pair of black leggings. I had fresh pack of underwear and chose the black ones out of the pack. He also bought me two bra's and I choose to wear the black one. After putting on the clothes I walked over to the sink to blow dry my hair. "Are you dressed?" Kalen asked. "Yes, why?" I asked. "I bought you some tooth paste, a toothbrush, and deodorant." He said as he opened the door and walked over to me. "Thank you." I said and took them gratefully. "You are welcome. I will wait in the room while you finish getting ready." He said. "Okay, I will be out in a minute." I said. He nodded his head and walked out of the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and then put on my deodorant. I put all the things in the bag that he bought them in and put my dirty clothes in the JCPenny bag. I walked out of the bathroom and saw Kalen sleeping on the bed. "Did you sleep last night?" I asked. "I slept a little, but I really don't sleep much anymore." Kalen replied. "Maybe you try and sleep a little more, it could do you some good." I said. "It's not important. We should be going." He said. "I guess you are right." I said. "Of course I am." He said with a smirk on his handsome face. I blushed at that thought and darted out the door not even waiting for Kalen to follow. He came out of the hotel empty handed and I was wondering where he put all of those clothes. I was almost certain that the manager would not let him leave them behind the desk or in the office. "Where did you put the bags?" I asked. "I sent them to another realm for right now. We can't be lugging around so much stuff." He replied. "Okay...?" I answered, still processing that magic and fairy tales actually existed along with the real world... Or is the real world a fairy tale to? I'm losing my mind! We walked out of the hotel in silence not saying much to each other. I could never get tired of the view in the city, but it was so strange to see all the people in their true forms. Kalen said that we were going to search for my mother, but to be honest I wasn't even sure where to begin, she could be anywhere. "Kalen, where do we even begin to look for my mother." I asked. "Well there is numerous places that we could look. The dark fairies dwell in the dark realm, but I am doubting your mother went there. That will be the last place that we check. There is hideouts where good fairies hide and then there are ones for dark fairies." He replied. "So is the dark fairies evil?" I asked. I really needed to know more about who I was. "Yes and no." He replied. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I mean that the world will always need good and evil for everything to balance out correctly. Some dark fairies choose to be evil and others are born that way. It's just how the nature of things is. You mother is example of the that. She was born an evil fairy, but she never wanted to be evil." He said. I followed him the rural part of New York and there he lead me to a Mansion that was clearly cloaked. It was 18th century and it was truly beautiful, even in all of its dark glory. I followed him the door doing my best to refrain from asking any question. At this point in time I knew better than to ask questions when he was on business. I watched as a guy stepped into out path to prevent us from going any further. "Who goes there?" "One who knows the light and carries the great treasure." "Kalen, how good to see you again." The guy said. "The same to you Marcus." he replied. "Who is the girl with you?" Marcus questioned. "Look for yourself." Kalen said. It didn't take long for Marcus to gasp. "The daughter of the Evil queen and the good King. I am honored to meet you milady." Marcus said with blush and he bowed in respect. "There is no need to bow I said. I am just a normal person." I said. "You are not your average person. That much I can promise." Marcus said and then disappeared into the shadows. "What do I really look like?" I asked and he sighed. "Do you want the honest truth?" He asked, as he led me through the arch way. "Yes." I replied, following behind him. "You are truly an exquisite creature, made in pure beauty. In your true form, which I can see, you have beautiful gold and purple wings. Your hair is purple with gold streaks in it, and your eyes are golden like the sun." Kalen said with a radiant smile that I loved.
