Lost Vacation

I can hear conversations around me, I can feel people touching me. My wrists, my head, some cold thing thouched my chest. But It just seems I can't call enough energy to get my body to function. And then there's foot steps. I'm waiting for the pain that usually came to take over the sleep, but minutes gone by and there's nothing. So I forces my eyes to open. 

Ugh!! Sunshine filled the room, and it felt like hundreds of needle stabed my eyes. Reflex, I closes my eyes again. There's a slight pain while I did, but thanks god it's brief, not the hammering pain like before. I tried to open my eyes again, this time very slowly and carefully.

Maddie's still here and she's talking on the phone in hussed voice. I found myself slightly curious to whom she's talking. But, then again I don't really know her, why would I mind her bussiness. I just know her for the story she was telling me yesterday. Or was it today? I can't keep up anymore. Just how long I was out?

" Tell them I'm sorry, I really can't" silent

" No, please don't come. I don't want to scare her" silent

" Yes Heather, I promise. She needs time to heal, okay. She might freaking out, if you all here" silent

" No, got an accident" silent

" Uhm... Yea...I can't really talk about it now" silent

" Yes. I asked my parent to adopt her legally" silent

Maddie must felt someone staring at her, because she turn around. She's beaming when she found me awake. She then said her good bye to whomever on the phone and walking to my bedside.

" Hello, stranger. Do you know who I am?" Very funny. I found myself cuckled, but that's sounds like a frog even for my own ear.

" Yeah. Maddie. I saved you from a robbery. Well, I hope I said that right, my english's horrible" I said

" Oh! You remember that night. It's a great sign" Maddie's eyes widen and her mouth fell on the floor. When she found her composure again, she clapping her hands and jump up and down like a five years old, she looks ecstatic.

" No, you told me the tale, yesterday..." and then I'm not sure. I was out for god knows how long " Was it yesterday?"

Maddie huffs, she looks sad and...worried. I just know her for five minutes and she's already worried about me? Well, she looks like someone who would delay her journey just to help an old lady to cross the street. She looks worried as if I am her own family. Or, Am I? No, that's imposible, she looks nothing like me. I am clearly different, I know that for sure, and she looks american trough and trough.

" Yes, that was yesterday. I'll let Uncle Lo know you're up" she told me, and went out and came back

" Would you please ask him to let me out?" I ask her hopefully " This place's scary, there's needle everywhere"

" Of course there's needle everywhere, it's a hospital. Well...let him know first, then we'll talk to him later. What do you say?" she said reasonably.

" Sounds great. Sure " I'd agree to whatever she suggests as long as I can leave soon.

" Talk to whom?" as on cue the cute uncle came in.

Maddie ran to him to give him a hug " Uncle Lo! I swear you're a great of a god doctor. Look! She looks great, Isn't she?. She even cracking a joke, not that funny if you asked me" she purse her lips. Doctor cute laugh, ruffle her hair and release her.

" Well, I've been cheking up on your chart. Apparently everything's great. But I have to make sure nothing gone wrong first. So... Shall we?" I nod, and then he's doing his examination thing. He looks pleased.

" So, Would you please let me out of here? Please" I put my best puppy look face on

" First thing first. I want you to bear this in mind ; Don't push your self to hard to remember anything. Your memory will restore themself in time, so take it esay, enjoy your life. Just put it like a rubber band, you pull too hard and it'd snap. Do you understand, champ?" I nod " Very good, If you feel anything out of place, nausea, headache, ear ringing or blurred vision or worse the mix of it, promise to let me know immediatly. Maddie has my number" He said patienly, smiling as always

" If I promise, will you let me out?" instead of saying yes, I make a bargain.

" Do you know where to go?" he answer me with another question. If it's in other circumtances I might snap at him, but not now tough

" Of course She'd coming home with me" Maddie that was busy tiping a mile per hour on her phone chime in " I've been talking to mom and dad"

" No. I don't want to be a burden" I can't understand her concern, as if I'm worth it.

" Not a burden at all. We'll make a great team, I promise. We'll talk later, but no word from you will ever makes me budge. Don't waste your breath, sweety" she waving her hand in dismiss

" You'll never won this suck conversation. However, she'll always get what she wants" the cute doc lean in and whispered in a loud voice. I am failed to hide my grin. Well, there goes my fate...

" I heard that" Maddie said, crossing her arms in front of her

" But unfortunately, I'm with maddie in this. You're not in a good state, and it's not safe for wandering around out there alone. So, you'll be safer staying with her until you...get better or something" The cute doctor tried to reason with me. Or, he's just spoiling her brat of a niece.

Who can argue with that. I'll go with the blond. But I'm so going to look for a job, I really don't like to be a burden. She looks nice and all, but still...It's too much. Well I'll worried about that later. Amnesia. Who would have thought? Is it a condition where my brain get a bumps or is it losing a volume or something? I almost laugh. Well, good to know I have a sense of humor.

" Uhm...That's really nice of you, thank you. I'm coming with you" I guess that's the best thing to say for now

" Oh! Great" Maddie maddie grinning form ear to ear.

" So, that's settled then, Ladies I'll leave you two, to get ready. If you need anything just let nurse anne know, I'll be at the other room. Some other sweet little girl needs me in a few minutes. I'll check on you later kidos" Said the cute doc, kissing maddie's temple, then he touch my cheek and left.

" He's sweet. Isn't he?" maddie batting her eyelashes. I just rolled my eyes.

" Yeah. He's great. So do you" I admit smiling shyly to her.

" On second thought, what about we some lunch, kids? I know just a great restaurant that serve very very very delicious sushi, I'll see you guys home after. And my shift's about to end" Doctor cute popped his head back from the door

" I'd love to Uncle Lo, thank you" maddie flying to his arms hugging him, he laughed and hugged her back

" Allright,kids. Meet me in my office in half an hour, will ya?" he said

" Yes, Sir" maddie said in a mock salute. Doctor cute laugh and then left.

" Here. Put this on, I'm taking you shopping for appropriate outfit, I don't want you to look odd when we hang out with my friends later, and we will absolutely do" she said while hand me a shopping bag " That was mine from when I was your age, you can wear it for now, but that is so old style, sorry " she said with apologetic face.

" Sure, thank's. You don't know my age anyway. Hell, I dont't even know myself "I said hopping down the bed, and reaching for the bathroom.

" No, cursing kid!" she admonished me " And I sure can guess how old are you. And you can change here, I'm secure with my feminity and I like boys, you're safe you know" she half yelled, and I almost can see her grin

" Well, I'm shy"
