I took a proper look at everybody in the room. What am I going to gain if she is in the Council? I’ll just see her annoying face more often! And I’ll have to deal with her attitude! I wanted to scoff out loud but held it in. I needed to read the temperature of the room. If I was the only one going against or for, it would bear its different consequences. If I was the only one against, they would just frown that I was too stuck up. But if I was the only one, except Michael, for her joining, they would wonder what had changed. And they would have too many questions about it. But why would she even want to join the council? Is she planning to bring more scholarships to this school?! I enlarged my eyes upon the realization.
