Chapter Twenty-Nine“Jake, I can feel something odd about you,” Tamatan said from beneath their cover on the ship's deck.
“Like what?”
“I'm at a loss. But I noticed it when we set sail. Are you hurt?”
“I don't think so?” the man replied, wondering what had changed since their hasty departure.
“Strange. I can feel something dark emanating from you. Like before when you were sick, but much stronger.”
“Hang on,” Jake countered, pulling the dagger from his waistband. He saw the demon's eyes flare, his face changing from intrigue to shock.
“That's what it is. I can feel dark energy inside it. Please, may I take a look?”
“Sure,” Jake offered, studying the demon closely.
