Chapter SevenJake stirred as the sound of nearby seagulls drifted in through his window. His eyes fluttered open, the man lying there as he came to, trying to recollect the fuzzy dreams he'd risen from. Grabbing his shorts from the floor next to the bed, he made his way quietly downstairs, flicking the kettle before pulling a large frying pan from a cupboard. Five minutes later, Jake was seated at the kitchen table, peering out at his back garden as bright sunlight began to warm the land.
