All the numbers are off. "Megan, can you call Charlie from accounting and set up a meeting with just him Please" Jarrod spoke into the intercom.

Things are spiraling very fast and he wasn't sure what happened but he was going to find out. 

"Monty, I need you. Can I come in to meet and discuss what I need?" Jarrod asked

"I have a opening this afternoon and tomorrow. What do you want?" Monty asked

"I want this afternoon, what time? This is important to me."

"I have a 2,3,5 or 6 available, which is best for you?" Monty asked

"I will see you at 2. Thanks a lot Monty.". He hung up

"Megan what is on my schedule at 2?"

"Sir, you are free until your meeting at 4. Do we need to add anything?" Megan asked

" Yes put in meeting with Investigator at 2. I will be back before the meeting. Thank you Megan."

"You're welcome sir. It has been added. I will text you anything that comes up while you are out of the office and if i'm not at my desk when you, please leave me a sticky on your desk or mine. Thank you" she said disconnecting.

One thing that made his work life easier is Megan is the best assistant he can ask for. She is efficient, respectful, honest, open and upfront. The first assistant to call him an ass and petulant when he was. She made his life easier at work. 

Time Skip

"Monty, thanks for seeing me on such short notice." Jarrod said walking into Monty office, shaking hands.

"No problem, tell me what can I do for you?"Monty said

"I need a full service on my company. Someone is trying to sabotage me from the inside. Katrinah one of my new managers, her information is being tampered with. I have a meeting with Accounting in the morning to see if  just her numbers is being manipulated or if it's all the way to finance. I have placed cameras and bugs over her office. It seems to me that she is supposed to take the fall for whatever is planned. I need you to do a full scale all out investigation on my company, physical, financial and internet the works. So I can know exactly what is going on." Jarrod asked

"Wow! you got anyone in mind?"

" Yes, Jack has contacted Katrinah. I don't know if there is anyone else but he approached her and gave her the different numbers than what she had and what her team has. I need to know what is going on without anyone knowing it."

"Discretion I can do. What do you want? Do you want me to do a full scale work up or just a little digging?"

"I want full scale. Whatever it is you need to do you have permission."

"Can I have my team come in and perpetrate employees to get the information needed." Monty asked

"Absolutely. You have carte blanche  to find out what is going on and who is behind this." Jarrod said.

"Is there anyone or anything off limits. We are going to be invasive and and going to make some people mad by defaming you, blaming you and make you look like a bad guy." Monty asked.

"That's all fine.I just need to know what's going on and I need to know it now." 

"I will be in tomorrow with a team to implant and we can find out what is going on. You look like it's getting to you. Now tell me what else is going on? Business is done. " Monty said

"The family caught me and Katrinah having dinner and they have been on my ass every since to meet her." Jarrod stated, looking defeated.

"Well, is there something going on besides work between you?"

"I mean we both work late and therefore have dinner regularly now because we are both focused on work. Before you say or insinuate anything, she is very standoffish and is not inviting to know personally. She is very guarded. Hint it's not my business and especially because I'm her boss she isn't saying anything. All of our talks are strictly professional. Could I like her, Yes, but I have so much on my plate with the company I haven't had time to figure out if i like her. As soon as I was going to relax and start dating all of this s**t start and now I can't take my eyes off the company because I don't know who is behind this, why this is happening and how I am supposed to shoulder the weight of 400 employees. I'm running in circles trying to make everything make sense, but looks like I should have stayed as a worker and not started my own company. Do you know that is the last time I just went home and relaxed and forgot about work? I'm starting to doubt if I should just fold and find me a 9-5 and be stress free."

"Whoa that's a lot to unpack but the key points are. No you can't give up and stop because things are tough again. I know you want to relax, but relaxation will have to wait. As your PI I got your company, it's my new project personally, let me stress about that. I do want to challenge you to find out about her person, you don't have to go into personals but find out what she likes to do and see if you have any shared interest. I'm not saying start something but inquire about her if you are going to continue to be working late together. I do recommend on your weekends off, try getting back to the old you that was having fun and seen life as an adventure. It will help with your business slump. Just advice from someone who has built a company from the ground up." Monty said

"That sounds so easy, but when reports come crashing in on friday's how am I supposed to spend my weekend having fun when I have tons of reports to read and they just got more interesting. Trying to find a needle in hay stall." Jarrod exhaled.

"I know, but as of today you are now off the clock unless you want to work with me on your reports. Just know that you have limited time to be with me while i'm working. So you will have to stay out my way and that will you give you saturdays'  to yourself. This weekend we can go over everything together at your house and you can show me what you are looking for so I know exactly what Rob needs to be on the lookout for. After this though I'm going to need you to relinquish some of that work control to me so I can figure out your problem. How about a quick trip to the coast and play in the water next weekend? Maybe Shay can take you and snag some women for you to get to know? You know she will do just about anything to go on a trip, she said her caseload has been getting heavier and she is looking for a way out. What do you think?" Monty suggested.

"Man, I don't think I've been in contact at all with Shay since Mike's wedding. She will probably pass out to see my number on her phone. Did she ever start dating officially what's his name, umm  Jock or something like that?" Jarrod asked

"Bro, it's been six months since you spoke to anyone from the group? You gotta get out more. You are working to much. No Jack was a hookup  that she just brought to the wedding to not look like a loser, her words not mine, and she wasn't going to seriously date that perv. If I could just figure out what is going on in that girl's head I would be dangerous. She is rash and impulsive." Monty said

"Whoa, when did things turn with you and Shay and where was I?"Jarrod said leaning forward.

"I found I had feelings for her when she showed with him at the wedding. That was a bad day for me. It was only after I went home and sat down and thought over the day did I realize why it didn't seem like such a happy day. You know Shay, so i'm keeping it all to myself. If necessary taking it to my grave." Monty said looking defeated. 

"Let's make a deal. If you can catch my culprit, I make Shay see you in a different light. When we have found and fixed my problem, I will have a nice romantic trip for you to tell her how you feel. Deal?" Jarrod said extending his hand for the handshake pact the guys had.

Shaking hands "Deal, you make me look good and I will put money back and your company so we can find you love too. You deserve some play time and someone to love you and share your time with. I will assemble my team today and have a list to you by 10 AM of who is going where and how we are going to get in the building, everything will be in writing in an e-mail. Of course you know to say nothing to no one not Katrinah or your secretary. We need complete honesty from everyone to sniff out the ferret. Monty said
