After the game, I was about to leave to find Ivanna when Blake stopped me in my tracks. “Hey, you leaving?” he asked, taking shallow breaths. He was sweating profusely but that smile on his face gave it away.
“Yeah, I was going to the class to get my bag” I lied, giving him an awkward laugh.
“Hey, Blake! C'mon!” the members called him.
“Yeah, coming!” he said to them and turned his attention back to me. “I just came to say thank you.”
“What for?”
“For giving me the hope I was on the verge of losing. Thanks for charging me up” he smiled and my heart skipped a beat.
“I-I just couldn't see the team losing because of you,” I said and he laughed at that.
“Oh really? Sad me, I thought you cared for me” he teased. His teammates called him again and I said he should go.
