Kaya POV

I came outside of the class and started looking around for Zaan but I could not find him. I frowned where was Zaan,then I asked Mr.smith about him,"Mam, have you seen Mr. Zaan,our new staff manager". She narrowed her eyes and asked me,"Why are asking about him"? I thought for an excuse and said,"Mam,I have to ask him about the test routine". She hummed and pointed me in the direction of a office,I nodded my head and thanked her. I moved towards the office and knocked on the door. But I did not get any reply,so I twisted the door knob and peek inside but no one was there. And I stepped inside to look him and stood infront of his desk. Suddenly,the door get closed with a thud sound and I was swirled around, a familiar body caught me in his arm from behind. His smelled filled up my nostrils,his lavender perfume with a fresh shower. I startled and stumble on my feet. He huskily whispered in my ears,"Did you need any help student"? His voice were giving me a sensation to my spine. I was breathing fastly as my heart was beating speedily. I gulped my nervousness and shook my head. He smirked and said pinning his eyes with mine,"So,why are you here"?

I mumbled softly,"I wanted to talk with you".

He caresses my face gently and said softly to me,"You are looking very cute, duckling". This duckling he used to call me, and after so many years. I felt so happy but did not show on my face and pouted for calling me duckling,as much as I loved this nickname from him as it sounded like a tease.

He caught me off guard and pecked on my lips. My eyes grew wider and stood froze. He chuckled and clasped me into a hug. It felt so calm and safe in my heart. I mumbled,"You did not told me that you would be joining as a staff manager in the tuition". He rumbled worriedly,"I could not leave you alone"."Hmm...I did not understand, asked him softly. He shook his head and said with a grin,"I want to give you a surprise, and I wanted to do a part time job after my studies,so I applied here,and they appointed me". She smiled which melts my heart and said,"I am really happy for you". Then, someone knocked on the door,we startled and apart from each other . Ashi came inside with a pile of papers and raised her eyebrows looking at us and asked her,"What are you doing here"?

I stammered ,"I...I came for, before I could say Zaan cut me in between & said,"She came for the schedule of the test". Ashi smirked and replied looking at us "I could see that very well". I blushed and glared at her playfully. She rolled her eyes and said,"Let's go back". Zaan frowned looking at me like a 6 years old child,"She will go after 10 minutes"said with voice of irritation. Ashi chuckled and winked at me. Then,she left us."I think I should go before anyone else come",said him with a smile. He nodded his head and I left his cabin and walked back to my class. Everyone was ready to give test,then Mr. Robert came and distribute us question paper of physics. Then,we started writing our papers everyone focused on thier test and thier was pin drop of silence. Mr. Robert was roaming around and looking like a predator.

After half an hour,I heard a whisper from behind of me,I turned back to look the person and saw Ave giving me a sympathetically look at my feet. I narrowed my eyes and could not understand her. Mr. Robert stood beside me, and grimaced at me. "What both of you are doing"?,he asked me in a stern voice. I flinched by his voice and mumbled,"Nothing sir, sorry". He he nodded his head and stepped to move ahead but he stopped in the mid way and swirled around and his gaze stopped at my feet. "Kaya,you have brought cheat papers",he shouted loudly that everyone pen was down and thier gaze was on me. I was shocked what he was saying.

Nonetheless,I shook my head and pulled back my chair and stood from my seat."Sir,what are you saying",said to him in utter confusion. He come back to my desk and while glaring at me,he bend down and took out a paper under my chair. I was confused looking at the paper and could not accept his blame. He read the paper. On the paper, formulae was written and many other definitions,as it was clear that the paper was a cheat paper. But it was not mine,Mr. Robert snatched the paper from my hand,"Leave the class right now and sit in my cabin,I will call your parents",my body went cold and my heart felt like it stops beating. I could not let this hapy,if my parents came then they would not only stops my studies and they would know about the Zaan too. In seconds, everything will be back to my two years past. Tears burned in my eyes and plead for my innocency,"Sir, this paper is not mine,I could never do this". I fold my hand and plead infront of him.

His eyes flicked with sympathy but he quickly covered it."Don't disturb the class and come with me in my office",he said in stern voice. He stepped out of the class and call Mrs. Smith to examine the class. I hug my head down with all my hopes and dreams shattered into pieces with every steps of mine towards his office,my dream of being doctor was getting away from me. I have not courage to face anyway,but I could fell the gaze of the other teachers. As Mr. Robert stepped inside his office and asked me to wait outside.

I did not want my parents to come and the things which happened me in the Co the convent school, the history should not be repeated again. After few minutes,he called me in his office,I stepped inside and saw him at the cheat papers."Sir, please believe me,I was not cheating",said him softly, with my folding hands. Then,a knock heard on the door and I turned around to see,Zaan came inside and hi gaze stopped at me. After few seconds,he straighted his face and averted his gaze to Mr. Robert."Sir, I came here to give you these papers"and he handed some files to Mr. Robert. In return,Mr. Robert nodded his head in response, meanwhile Zaan swirled around looking at me."What happened"?,'he asked calmly to me with a concern voice."She has a brought cheat papers,and I caught her",Mr. Robert replied to him while giving me a side glance to me.

I raised my head and shook my head,and I was terrified, horrified, scared stood on my place,frozen. Zaan glanced at me and his eyes flashed with hurt. He cleared his throat,"could I see the cheat papers"? He asked from Mr. Robert. Mr.Robert gave a curt nod and handed him the cheat paper. Zaan went through the paper for a while,and his gaze averted on me for a second and then locked back at the paper."sir, it's not written by her and second we should go through CCTV footage",he said in a calm voice. My felt so relaxed and calm that anyone believed on me,Mr. Robert took out his laptop and Zaan moved and took the seat. They were watching the CCTV footage, while my breath was hitched to thier Decision,on whicg my life was dependent.

As much as I wanted to prove my myself innocent but have not any evidence to prove."How did you know that the cheat paper is not her writing"? He asked Zaan with a raised eyebrows. Zaan moved forward to his desk and pick up one of the the file he had given to Me. Robert. Within,5 seconds he took out a paper and handed to him. He started intently on the paper and then again on the cheat paper. I gulped my tension and fidgeted my fingers,I hope who ever did, would be caught. But nonetheless,Mr. Robert stood up,from his chair,and picked up his intercom,"Send Miss Ave to my office", he said in harsh tone.

Zaan zoned out and stood still. As if he was in deep thoughts and scratching his neck.

“I apologize kaya for the misunderstanding, and you can go back into the class and your test would be taken tomorrow”, Mr. Robert said with a calm and thick voice.

I nodded my head in response and glanced at Zaan, he was still in the thoughts, I didn't say anything and walked out of the office. I sigh in relief and entered into the washroom. Then, splashed water on my face and looked at myself in the mirror, looked miserable with puffy eyes and red nose. I could not do anything again, which led my life like 2years back. Silently, I walked back to the class and saw Everyone gaze on me. I sprinted to my seat quietly.

“Are you okay”?

Ashi asked me with a concern.

I hummed and gave her an assured smile. She gave me a curt nod and smile back at me. “Those cheat papers were brought by Ave and when she stumbled on her steps, then one of her cheat paper fallen. Under your chair”, Ashi informed me. I gaped that Ave tried to do cheating, I have never thought that she would do this. “She might get expelled,” rumbled worriedly to her. Her lips twisted in disappointment, “She deserved this”.

"No, she doesn't deserve to be expelled, we should help her”, I replied to her with a frown. She rolled her eyes and did not reply to me. We moved to our Van to go back home. Then, I told everything what happened in the office. She asked me not to tell anyone at home. I agreed to her, and she told me the question that came in the test.
