Kaya POV After two years, I was preparing for my senior year of high school. Yes, I was allowed to continue studying because I received first division marks on my 10th grade exam. Even though I had already missed courses because my father agreed to send me simply for tests, it was tough for me to deliver exams. Following that, his pals admired me. They also requested that he allow me to study and become a doctor. After a month, he was persuaded by these ideas after Kosho failed an exam and received a poor grade. So the only way to improve his reputation was for me to do so. It took me a year to recover from the recollections of my mother's beating and harsh comments. She was still depressed at the prospect of spending money on me and training to be a doctor. She shows herself as being really proud of me and loving me a lot during a social gathering. But I didn't keep a reality hidden from myself. I got dressed and headed downstairs to get ready for school. My father was reading the newspaper when his gaze shifted to me, and he remarked, "Why haven't you gone yet?" He narrowed his eyes and continued, "The van driver must be waiting." I nodded and walked over to the van to get it. In addition, I took my seat in the van, and Ben took the seat in front of me; I left the convent school and enrolled in Mary school. I left the school for two reasons: first, I was tired of the school politics, and second, a van passed by Zaan's house. Zaan and I haven't spoken in almost two years, and I only know about him because of FaceTime. Ashi keeps me up to date on his progress. I'm delighted he's finished his two years at that college. It was really difficult for me to forget him, or rather, to declare that I had not forgotten him and still adore him. The sound of laughter then disturbed my thoughts. We arrived at our school when the other girls were playing. When I entered the school, I saw my friend Ashi Sami and Anu running towards them, smiling. We entered our class and took our seats. "I have news for you," Ashi says quietly. “What news are you talking about?” I inquired, raising my brows. She beams from ear to ear and exclaims, "Zaan is returning to the city." I was taken aback, and before I could respond, Sami and Anu spun around and exclaimed, "What?" I was silent for a few moments because I was astonished; I had been waiting for him for two years, and suddenly he was returning. I'm at a loss for words and actions right now. “Yes, he's coming back,” Ashi said, rolling her eyes. “He posted a status saying he'd be back.” “I don't know what to do if he still loves me or if he might move on with his life,” I said with a sad smile. “Let's speak him first, then come to any conclusion,” Ashi replied, clasping me in a side hug. “If anyone knew about us, there would be a lot of issues for us again,” I moaned sadly. “At least try for a once and talk to him things might have changed,” Sami cut me off in the middle. “I don't think it's a good idea,” Anu grumbled, “that everything has been over, so you both don't encourage the things to her again.” “You don't have time for yourself, and how would you handle this relationship?” Anu said, looking into my eyes. Then she pointed her fingers at me and said, "This girl doesn't have time to eat or bathe; she would be at school until 2:00 p.m., then she would run for tuition classes from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., after which she would perform domestic chores and self-study. Allow her to put the past behind her and move on.” I remained mute and listened to them as the teacher entered the room and began teaching us. I got caught up in my studies, but my mind was clouded by Zaan. The school ended after a few hours, and I was perplexed by their statements. I sat in the van and drove straight to the tuition courses; this was my first co-educational tuition class experience, as I had previously exclusively attended a girls' school. I didn't have time to change, so I wore the same school uniform, and the other student stared at me. Similarly, as I shrugged my shoulders and sat near Ashi, a boy with a notebook appeared and glanced at me. Similarly, I lifted my brows and said, "Who is he?" to Ashi. “What are you doing here?” Ashi asked, scowling. “I have some doubts,” he said, looking at me, “could you please clear it up?” I was writing my assignment instead of paying attention to him. “Go to the teacher and ask him,” Ashi urged with a phoney smile. As I flinched at his unexpected action, he kept his new book on my textbook. I averted my sight from him; he was my age, with a sharp nose and a fair complexion, but he wasn't as intelligent as Zaan. I scowled and wondered why I was comparing him to Zaan. “Sorry, I can't nicely relocate it before I protest to the teacher,” I said calmly to him. He was always smiling at me, attempting to charm me with his demeanour, but the lads' demeanour irritates me greatly. “Go right now,” Ashi shouted as she stood up and handed him a notebook. He gave her a grimace and walked away. She smirked and returned to her seat. I smiled at her, knowing she was always there for me. Mr. Robert, the physics teacher, contacted me later in the class. I frowned and proceeded inside his office, where I noticed the same boy who had come to inquire about my thoughts standing there with a grin on his face. “Kaya, meet our new student, Xavier. He got late admission due to some problems, but you are good at physics,” Mr Robert said. I thought you would be able to assist him in some way.” Similarly, I opened my lips to say no, but Mr Robert replied, "I would enhance your grades in assignment for this assistance." I sighed and nodded, agreeing to his assistance. “I would be grateful for your assistance and I would reciprocate this favour,” Xavier added, his mouth pursed into a self-satisfied smirk. “I would offer you my notes and any more doubts you could ask me when I am free,” I sang. "Free means," he complained. “As I have to do my school and tuition studies, I would tell you when I am free, but first read my notes, and I am sure you would not have any doubts,” I added, narrowing my eyes. I stormed out of the office, enraged and frustrated.
