Live 30: Unexpected Quarrel

The young woman he adores walks side by side with another man next to her. Anthony recognizes that man as Kani, the gentleman who always talks to her about APEX. Kani waves his hand awkwardly to Yellow and Anthony who are already waiting for them to enter the Square.

Yellow tells the clueless Anthony that they’re going to play APEX together, the three of them inside the Crimson Night Discord server. Since APEX is only playable with a three-man squad, sadly enough Anthony has to sit outside while the three of them playing. Yellow offers to stream the game if Anthony is interested in APEX.

“Well, I can stream it for you if you want to watch us playing” Yellow smiles kindly. “What do you think?”.

Anthony accepts the offer, the three of them offline from Holorealm as soon as they promised each other that they will play in Discord. The awkward Anthony follows after them, logging in to the discord only to see that the three of them are already online in the discord. He enters the voice channel, watching Yellow stream their game.

“Hey! You should join us next time Anthony!” Tempesta sounds invigorated. “It’s a cool game! Not sure if you like FPS though”.

“Not a fan, but I can watch you play the game” Anthony replies nervously.

The game starts with the three of them flying down from a jet, jumping down below with smokes. Anthony watches the match closely, noticing the closeness of Tempesta and Kani as they joke around among themselves, Yellow is merely a spectator to the couple’s teasing. Kani asks the young woman if she understands the game.

“With a bit of practice, I think I can do it” Tempesta answers shyly. “Not as good as you thought, teach me how you carry yourself in the game”.

“Sure, I can teach you a few tips and tricks” he answers her kindly.

Yellow coughs awkwardly, noticing the lovely atmosphere between the two of them. Anthony can sense the birth of new love, flourishing in the air as they flirt with each other indirectly. Both parties are too shy to advance first, they’re giving signals to each other to move first. As soon as the three landed on a designated spot, another squad is spotted near them.

Kani picks the nearest weapon he gets while positioning himself, scoping the enemies from afar since the weapon he picks happens to be a sniper rifle. Yellow got himself a submachine gun, a Volt that everyone loves with p2020 as a gun. On the other hand, Tempesta is stuck with a Havoc assault rifle along with a Mastiff shotgun.

“Can anyone switch with me? I’m not good with Havoc” she asks the other two. “My aim becomes the worst if-”.

“What are you even talking about? No matter what guns you use, your aim is always off” Kani teases the woman. “Let’s be real here”.

Yellow holds his laughter, almost letting bits of his laugh escape his mouth. Anthony glares at Kani’s profile, not letting him escape after what he said to Tempesta. The harsh woman can feel the sarcasm Kani puts on her, she grumbles quite a bit before snapping at Kani with all her might.

“Shut up, Kani!” Tempesta scoffs at the young man. “I’ll blast your brain to pieces if you don’t shut it!”.

“Try me then!” he grins. “Blast me with your suck aim!”.

“Now, now settle down” Yellow calms both of them. “We have enemies to obliterate right in front of us, they’re in another building”.

The three of them prepare their position, waiting for the other team to make their appearance on the open field. Yellow tells them that the ring position is advantageous on their side since they have to pass over their territory to reach the inside ring. Kani asks Yellow about his advice, their building have a higher vantage point thus if it comes to war then he can snipe them silently.

“We just have to wait for their movement” Yellow sighs heavily. “If they’re cowards, then they would probably choose the ring arena to gain better weapon and armor! Leaving us behind”.

“What if they’re not cowards?” Tempesta asks an obvious question.

“Guess they’ll die” Kani shrugs. “I’ll protect you with all my might, Tempesta! After all, your aim sucks!”.

The two of them bickering yet again, Yellow had to intervene between them to calm them down. Anthony feels slightly jealous of Kani since he cannot bring himself to talk to Tempesta. Anthony listens to Tempesta’s sigh and annoyance, she’s mumbling incoherently to herself but Anthony knows that she’s somewhat feeling unsatisfied.

“You’re being a tsundere, you know that?” Yellow teases the male Kani. “What is it with you telling her that you want to protect her, but then you mock her skills? Is that how you treat the person you-”.

“I never like her! Sheesh, calm down Yellow” Kani chuckles awkwardly. “Tempesta is mine, but that doesn’t mean I like her or anything like that”.

Kani is talking in a circle that none of them understands what he meant, but the sensitive Anthony understands that Kani is crushing on her quite hard as he speaks. The young man, Kani is too shy to convey his feelings, but his stuttering is apparent for everyone to conclude that the man is crushing on Tempesta.

However, Tempesta is too thick-headed to know what Kani is going through in his puberty. Rather, she looks depressed rather than enjoying the game. Anthony knows this, but since they’re focused on their games; hence he tries his hardest not to ask her. The enemy team is about to make their rotation, their heads are peeking through the doors.

“They know that we’re here” Yellow cues his two teammates. “Stay alert”.

“Copy that team leader” Tempesta smirks jokingly at Yellow. “You’re our team leader now! I appoint you into a team leader!”.

“Hey! What about me!?” Kani asks the woman, grumbling even.

“I don’t care, be whatever you want i***t!” Tempesta growls at Kani.

The atmosphere between the two of them sunk deeper than Anthony can even imagine, they’re in a split.
