When I got out of the car, I could make out Lilian standing at the entrance. Three other people were standing next to her. Finally, she also spotted me. Her eyes immediately lit up as she ran toward me like an overjoyed little bird.
We had only been a few days apart, but I felt like we had been separated for longer than that. I missed her so much.
I opened my arms to greet her. Lilian’s face flushed red, but she still jumped right into my arms and whispered, "Jake, I've missed you so much!"
