We made our way up to the second floor. Helen reserved us a private room with a view, which was very beautifully decorated. She quickly ordered twelve dishes and a bottle of red wine. I was shocked by the exorbitant prices on the menu. All the dishes she ordered were very expensive. Even the cheapest dish was about $19. Times that by 12… And the minimum price would still be over-the-top. I swallowed my saliva secretly.
Twelve dishes plus that bottle of wine was at least a thousand dollars!
$1000 for one meal. I felt like I would never eat like this even if I did have the money. The dishes Helen happened to order today were the same as the ones I had eaten with Violet out in Brampton. I had no idea what the prices were then, but that meal was also quite costly when I thought about it!
