25 Reunion A serving girl banged a plate of food on the breakfast table rather harder than usual. Petra glanced up, surprised, and with a shock like a spark of Blue Fire, his eyes met Amlinn’s. They stared at each other for a moment, and then Amlinn, expressionless, turned and went back to the nearest cookwagon. Petra looked at the surrounding tables. His increasingly lackadaisical guard was currently engaged in conversation with another of the serving girls, one considerably older and more buxom than Amlinn. Petra picked up his mug and casually walked over to the cookwagon as though to refill it with the hot, bitter tea favoured by the soldiers, though in fact, he could barely stomach the stuff. Amlinn stood by the open side of the cookwagon, apparently waiting for more food to serve.
