chapter 8

I wake up still tangled with Carter. Only this time I know he's awake, only I'm afraid to open my eyes and face the situation between us, so I pretend I'm asleep. I feel Carters hand rub the small of my back and shift and nozzle my neck. I struggle to remember to breath as my heart pounds in my chest and my body is burning in response to him touching me this way. He shifts and I feel how I'm affecting him and I get moose bumps and I feel my nips pebble against him. crap there's no way he won't notice. He shifts again and his knee is pressed against my groin and I Bite back a moan. "Harper" he whispers my name ever so softly. He nuzzles my neck again and then kisses it ever so softly and my breath hitches and struggle to remain still. He runs his finger tips along the sides of my body and the under side of my breasts and I shiver slightly under his touch and wonder what it would feel like to have him touch my skin directly, what his open mouth kisses would feel like. Suddenly I feel his open mouth kiss my shoulder and I turn to hot liquid mush. Oh My God this is actually happening, what do I do!?. I find myself frozen. My eyes pop open and I need to put some space between us before things escalate. " Your burning up, I can feel your pulse quicken" he whispers in my ear. I look into his into his beautiful green eyes and there's so much emotion in them I'm consumed by it. "Carter what are we doing" I whispers stunned. which breaks then trance and his body immediately leaves mine and he stands and backs toward the door and tosses me his sweater and I sit up and put it on. "You should cover up more at night,before you caught at cold" he says before he leaves his room and I touch my neck then shoulder where I still feel the lingerie touch of his lips. A few minutes later I hear the front door open and close and he's gone. I get some chorse done around the apartment and pick at a bagel and hours go by he still hasn't cone home and I'm beginning to worry as I'm taking super out of the oven. I check my messages and he still hasn't answer. Suddenly my cell vibrates.

Carter

At the gym, will be home late don't wait up.

I put my cell down and eat super and put his in the oven then I watch some tv before going to bed. I wake up to the door closing and foot steps walking toward his room. I close my eyes go back to sleep.
