“Did something happen at the shooting range?” I asked Eclipse “Nothing really, maybe he’s a bit sour” he answered. After I had finished eating, I made my way to Damien’s room, knocking so he would give permission to enter “Why did you seem upset at breakfast?” I asked seeing his calm face while he held the book to his face.

“It’s nothing Ariel ” he said in somewhat a pout “It’s not” I said holding his hand “Is something wrong, did I do something wrong or Eclipse ?” I asked “It’s not that, it’s just that..” he said “Just that what?” I asked, wanting him to finish his sentence “It’s nothing” he said dragging it further “No it’s not, tell me right now” I said holding his hand when I felt him grab me, his hand holding me, my back landing on his bed, his body over mine, his eyes searching through my eyes “What’s going on Damien?” I asked puzzled “Why did you have to look effortlessly beautiful?” He asked, his voice calmer than before.

I didn’t know what to think, his hands had now pinned me to the bed, his eyes scanning me “You just had to be with Eclipse all the while, looking like this” he said “Looking like what?” I asked “Nevermind that” he said letting go of me, I stood up “You don’t want to tell me what’s wrong” I said “When you’re ready, you know where to find me” I said walking away when his hand held mine, his eyes calm “You, you’re what’s wrong with me” he said standing up, his face close to mine, he leaned closer when the door had been opened, it was no maid, it was Eclipse , he wasn’t puzzled but I already was, my heart had begun to pound, for some reason what I ever wanted was Damien but why did I feel like I was wrong when Eclipse had seen me, my heart and mind having a conflict just as my reality and my imaginations.

I felt embarrassed already, Eclipse ’s eyes had met mine, I swiftly pulled away from Damien’s grip, yet I thought to myself “Isn’t this what I want? Damien, why do I feel guilty?” I quickly walked away from the room, I didn’t feel like I had the right to explain.

I rushed to my room and clamped down on my bed holding it firmly, my emotions were having a turn, why would I feel guilty in front of Eclipse , I muttered upon my breath, when I heard a knock on the door “Ariel , may I come in?” It was Eclipse , his voice was calm. “Yeah, you can” I said trying to hide my face, my total expression.

“Did something happen with Damien?” He asked sitting beside me “I’m not sure, he just wouldn’t tell me for some reason” I replied “But you’re fine” he said smiling at me, his light grey eyes scanning my face “Yeah, I’m fine” I said smiling “If you ever feel like talking, come to me, alright” he said holding my hand “Okay” u said feeling the warmth of his skin, his body making my bed sink “I’ll go now” he said getting up to leave “I need to finish up some work for father” he said letting go of my hand.

I watched him leave, there was something off about the both brothers, they had both acted strangely as of late and it was far from the ordinary. During lunch, Mr Elliot was home with an invitation from the king about the annual royal ball.

He called us after we had our meals “The king has specially invited us for the ball” he said with a grin “Father, may I come with?” Coby asked, his voice as beautiful as ever “No my son, I can only bring your brothers and your sister with, besides the king wishes to see her at the hall next week” he said smiling at us “The king, wishes to see me?” I asked in amazement “What for?” I continued “Well, you are now family and he decided to see and welcome you as well” Mr Elliot said “I already told the maids to get you ready for your first ball” he said smiling as he went up to his room.

I looked at both Eclipse and Damien “What are these balls about and how do they follow through?” I asked staring at them both “Well you’ll need to learn how to dance” Eclipse said smiling gesturing his hand forward “Also how to reject dances” Damien said putting his brother’s hand down “And how to behave in an eloquent manner” Miss Venni, the caretaker added. She walked closer to me smiling “You have quite a nice body, I’m sure your fitting will go well” she said putting her fingers on my waist, her smile was quite wide.

“I’ll help her out, I’ll teach her how to dance” Eclipse offered, his smile, widening “I’ll be in my room” Damien said walking off. After that, we had gone to our rooms. In the meantime, I had decided to talk to Mr Elliot about the orphanage children to know their well-being and to thank him for all he had done.

I slowly walked to the room with a large door, I’m sure it was designed for his free passage, “She is my daughter, I can tell” I heard a voice from the little space left from the door “The mark on the side of her chest, I gave her that mark” I heard Mr Elliot say, his eyes with so much care and somewhat pain as he talked to the caretaker “I should never had left her mother, she has suffered a lot because of me” he said, my ears couldn’t carry his words, what or who was he talking about, me? I asked myself, my jaw had dropped, my face had turned pale as my back dropped to the ground, the thud was enough to alert everyone, I was sure, my heart raced even faster, my eyes had become teary and soon, the door had opened, I heard Miss Venni’s voice over my consciousness.

My eyes were heavy and all I could see was black. After a while, my eyes had begun to open, “Are you okay? Ariel , do you hear me?” Eclipse ’s voice had reached my subconscious mind, I tried to lay back picking myself up to sit upright “Don’t strain yourself” he continued “Miss Venni, Ariel ’s awake” he yelled, calling the attention of others, I looked more disarrayed seeing Mr Velcrose who came and sat beside me holding my hand “I’m sorry Ariel , I’m sorry I had to wait eighteen years before I’m looking for you” he said, his voice had become more apologetic, calm and sorrowful “I loved you and your mother even before your birth” he added watching my eyes “How could you do that father?” I asked, my skin had become paler in only minutes.

“It’s okay Ariel , he says he’s sorry, it’s a long story anyways” Miss Venni added “Your father’s parents didn’t want your mother, so they got him married to Eclipse ’s mother yet your mother and him tried to stay together and the love between them had strived for long leading to you being conceived, they sent your mother faraway, driving them apart, it truly wasn’t his fault” she said trying to calm me down. My eyes had become teary, not just because I had found my biological father but because I have fallen in love with my step brother who is biologically related to me through my father, my heart had become even more confused, what could I do, I have fallen heavily in love with my blood.
