that evening

Thomas returned from work, he sat down tiredly on the sofa with his legs crossed then his daughters emerged, except Stephanie. each wearing a disappointed look on their Faces.

"good evening dad" Amelia greeted, he looked up at them frowning.

"what's the matter" he said cruelly. the girls drew backwards at his tone, except Eleanor.

"who is she" she asked with her arms folded, Thomas frowned.

"go to your rooms!" he thunders and the girls scamper away only to return the next minute. only Eleanor and Amelia stood their ground.

"are you hiding something dad" Amelia asked calmly.

" yes tell us, we saw her things, has she come to stay" Ashley asked.

" yes" he replied averting his gaze from Amelia who looked sad.

"who is she dad" Natalie asked timidly...... after a long period of silence, he spoke.

"your step mum"

"what!" they yelled in surprise.... tears fell from Amelia's eyes.

"no wonder she acted like a step mum,....she slapped Eleanor" Kaitlyn hissed.

"now leave to your rooms, I have answered your questions!"Ashley, Kaitlyn and Natalie left except Amelia who was now in tears.

"what about our real mother" she asked sobbing.

"didn't I just say you should leave" he yelled.

"I'm not leaving......"Eleanor hissed

who is that little boy .....is he..... your son...." Amelia asked tearfully.

" enough....." he said pushing them away "leave or I'll... I'll hit you.....

"hurt us dad and I'll call 911"Eleanor threatened.just then Beatrice arrived and met her two daughters standing angrily beside Thomas.

"Amelia, Eleanor, what's the matter" she asked in surprise. Thomas stood up from the couch and walked towards Beatrice.

" you've sent them.... right, well I'm happy they've found out, Jane had the son you couldn't give me...." he said pushing her and she fell on the glass table.....

"mum!" Amelia yelled as the rushed towards her.

"don't touch my mother you beast" Eleanor yelled and Amelia covered her lips...... thank goodness it was just a cut. the lady on hearing the glass sounds rushed out , followed by the other girls.

"oh Thomas please don't hurt her" the lady said running down the stairs.

"Jane..... let's leave this place" Thomas said dragging the lady upstairs.

the girls helped Beatrice up, and took her to their room ,the glass had cut her leg. as Amelia treated the cut, the children sat around her.

"dad is so mean...I told you he didn't love us" Kaitlyn said.

"I swear I'll Sue him for domestic violence" Ashley said adjusting her glasses.

"that's what you always say" Natalie sighed.

"feeling better now mum" Amelia asked and Beatrice nodded.

"I'll make life hell for the both of them" Eleanor swore.

" mummy, don't mind papa" Stephanie said resting her headon her shoulder and Beatrice stroked her hair.

"girls, I want you to promise me, what happened today should never be repeated" she began.

"we were just asking who she was and she slapped me" Eleanor complained.

"you talked rudely" Amelia added.

"she acted deaf... what did you expect" Natalie said.

"you just have to avoid any trouble, okay.... remember, always obey your elder sister, I know one day I'll leave you all and I expect cooperation, I love you all, my stars" Beatrice kissed each girl on their forehead and stood up to leave.

" wait a sec mum, where do you think you're going" Natalie asked.

" my room" Beatrice replied.

"you and dads room?" Eleanor said raising an eyebrow.

" stay here mummy, he'll hurt you again" Kaitlyn added.

"you can sleep beside me" Stephanie smiled.

" no sweethearts, I'll stay in my room, your dad wouldn't mind" with this word she left for her room.

"are you sure mum is okay" ashley said in surprise as they retired to bed.

" I don't think so" Natalie replied.

"really, I meant.... she's been bleeding" Ashley observed.

"I saw her clothes, yesterday" Kaitlyn recalled."all b****y".

"what,....I might be ehm.......maybe normal..." Eleanor stammered.

"no, Eleanor its not it" Amelia said.

"hey.....look.... blood" Stephanie said in fear pointing towards where Beatrice sat earlier.

"hmmmm......." Ashley said in fear
