It may have been only a casual dinner, but it took me two hours to get ready. My wardrobe was limited, but I tried on everything in it, twice, before I was satisfied with black pants, fitted green top, white jacket and high heels. My hair was another story. After tying up the long black tresses in various styles, I settled for leaving it out. I was relieved when I arrived at The Servery to see that I wore the right kind of clothes. I fit right in…until the hostess realized I was with Ash.
She was over-the-top exuberant in greeting me and showing me to the table where Ash sat waiting. Thankfully she left us alone straight away, but I think that was only because Ash gave her an arched look when she handed him the wine menu.
